London

Tom Pollock began horn lessons in 1997 with Kevin Abbott in Canterbury before moving to Chetham’s School of Music for two years where he studied with Lizzie Davis. In 2009 Tom gained scholarships to a number of conservatoires and chose to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where his teachers included Jeff Bryant, Richard Bissill, Hugh Seenan, David Pyatt, Chris Parkes and Jonathan Lipton. He also studied natural horn with Roger Montgomery. After graduating from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2013, with BMus (Hons), he continued his studies with Katy Woolley and Stephen Stirling. In 2013 Tom was chosen to take part in the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment scheme, and in this same year he played principal horn with the London Symphony Orchestra’s Discovery Orchestra at the BMW Open Air Classics in Trafalgar Square. Since Guildhall, Tom has been freelancing around the UK and has played with, among others, the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Firebird Orchestra, Amadeus Orchestra and Chipping Campden Festival Orchestra. Tom plays regularly in Brass and Wind ensembles.
