About Thomas

I used to perform music, then I organised it, now I mostly listen.
Pianist
Cambridge

Tom is a pianist, saxophonist and singer, and has experiences in arranging and conducting. His main focus was music administration as president of Downing College Music Society. He started to learn the piano at age 7, and the saxophone at age 9. He was involved with ensembles, bands and choirs at schools and also Berkshire Maestros. He studied music GCSE. During both years of sixth form Tom led his house in the inter-house music competitions, leading him to take interest into the logistical side of music. In 2012 he joined Downing College Cambridge, and with it the college Chapel Choir and Big Band, becoming a choral scholar in 2013. He was the treasurer of DCMS for a year before becoming president in Lent term 2014. During this time, he organised the choir tour to Beijing, and greatly raised the profile of music in the college this included setting up a joint orchestra with Peterhouse and Pembroke College for the academic year 2014/2015. He was succeeded by Harry Bradford in March 2015.
