The Y Street Band are a diverse four-piece group with a unique sound and energy to complement any occasion. Formed in 2008, the band have developed their sound over the years from busking on the streets of York to performing in front of sold-out audiences at York Barbican. Their rich harmonies and distinct musical tastes all contribute to shows that have been wowing weddings, private parties and corporate events for over ten years.

All prices include:High energy live music performance consisting of popular/classic cover songs delivered in our own unique style. We provide all our own PA and musical equipment which will have a valid PAT testing certificate on the day of the event. We work with a sound technician to ensure that the sound quality is of the highest standard and is adaptable to your needs and those of the venue. We're happy to liaise with you closely during the months and weeks leading up to the event to ensure everything is arranged perfectly. We're also happy to deal directly with the venue relating to insurances etc.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We cover hit songs from a wide variety of genres and musical decades cover Our set is high energy, with lots of up beat songs drenched in 4 part vocal harmony.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes, although all four members of the band sing and we may chop and change for a couple of songs.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard line up is as follows: 4 vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bas and drums. Our sound technician makes an appearance on the tenor saxophone during our 'finale' songs. This is included in all packages.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We will be happy to consider this depending on your requirements.

How much time do you need to set up?

We require around 1.5 hours to set up, preferably when the event space is free of guests and we can sound check the equipment without giving anything away

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 6m by 3m space to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
