We started playing as a duo in 2015, evolving to a full band made up of musicians with over ten years of professional experience. We have experience performing all over the UK and internationally. We played live on BBC Radio, played some amazing festivals, weddings, luxury cruise ships and worked with brands such as Veuve Cliquot, Jaguar and organisations such as NATO, all while doing what we love. Our fun folky acoustic sets cover favourites from The Lumineers, Taylor Swift and George Ezra featuring male and female lead vocals with ukulele and guitar, perfect for a laidback festival vibe. For our electric sets, we cover indie, pop and rock bangers that are sure to get everyone dancing, from Florence, Queen, Jessie J, The Killers and The Beatles delivered with main stage energy. We also offer a laidback acoustic duo set of beautiful love songs and jazzier tunes, perfect for ceremonies and drink receptions (check out The True Colours Acoustic Duo profile). We love making an event special, whether it’s arranging a unique acoustic version of a special song, or making a dream come true for a talented family member who’s always wanted to perform with a real band. From intimate wedding ceremonies, champagne receptions, festival sets, and dance floor-filling electric sets, we focus on top musicianship and creating the perfect atmosphere.

Wow. The True Colours Band are a fantastic act. They recently played at our wedding in a barn and we could not fault them. Their communication was spot on during the weeks leading up to the event, they turned up the day before to assess the venue, do their set up and sound check, they had to move thing around last minute due to the weather, they were REALLY helpful and proactive. Then came their evening sets......Incredible. Mia has a phenomenal voice and the whole band just works well together. The dancefloor was constantly full, they played lots of big hits and really created a party atmosphere. Every single guest I have spoken to since has complimented us on the band - I could not rate this band highly enough. Thank you so much for making our day so memorable. If you are considering this band, do it, they will exceed your expectations.

After seeing The True Colours perform and hosted them at our venue, we booked them for our wedding. Mia and Dan’s range of music is fantastic and a must for any big occasion. Due to covid we have to postpone our wedding twice, through which they have been incredible in accommodating us. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a top quality band. What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love our acoustic arrangements of their favourite songs, we've been known to bring people to tears with a version of 'their song'! People enjoy the large variety of decades and genres we cover, often commenting that we create the 'perfect atmosphere' with our music.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We've performed at many beautiful venues such as Botleys Mansion, Cain Manor, Notley Abbey, Oakley Hall, The Dorchester in London and Winchester Guildhall as well as luxury cruise ships and hotels.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Rock and pop greats such as Fleetwood Mac, Queen, blues and soul legends like Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder... From more recent times we love artists like Walk Off The Earth, Boyce Avenue, Ed Sheeran and Adele.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We've performed to audiences of up to 2000 onboard luxury ships such as the Celebrity Eclipse, as well as events such as the Great British Gin Festival and even played a gig live on BBC Radio Berkshire.

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, we play as an acoustic duo with male and female vocals, ukulele and guitar (check out The True Colours Acoustic Duo profile).

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We are happy to DJ through our sound equipment, or you can provide us with your ultimate DJ playlist for us to plug in! We are also happy to work with a separate DJ and will liaise with them on staging and timings. If you have DJ playlist requests, we ask that you make these in advance so we can guarantee them on the night.

How much time do you need to set up?

We recommend an hour from arrival as a duo and an hour and a half for a band set-up, including soundcheck time. We will require parking close to where we are performing, and if there are any access issues this could increase the setup time. Once we know your event timings and your venue information we can work out the best times to set up in advance.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

You are more than welcome to request certain songs and artists from our large repertoire and we will craft a set list using our years of live experience that will create the perfect atmosphere for your event. For ultimate personalisation, we offer a consultation service which includes us learning up to 3 songs for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We will provide everything we need to perform, as well as stage lighting. Our PA system is modular and can be adapted to suit a range of venue sizes, but if you are planning a larger event for 1000+ people, we will include in our quote an extra sound crew and equipment.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it, so do ask if there's a special song you'd like. We also have our set personalisation service where we can learn and arrange up to 3 songs for you.
