Hello! We are Mia and Dan and we love creating special moments through our live music, and being able to travel the world doing what we love. Our duo features male and female vocals, guitar, ukulele and hand percussion. Check out our 4 piece band The True Colours Band too! We have built up a huge repertoire of songs over the years, most of them requested by our audiences from around the world and for special occasions such as wedding ceremonies. From Elvis to Ed Sheeran and Ella Fitzgerald to Taylor Swift, we add our own unique style with vocal harmonies and acoustic arrangements. Our aim is to create the perfect atmosphere with our music, whether that's playing beautiful love songs for ceremonies, jazzy tunes for drinks receptions or getting the rhythm section in for a festival vibe! We've been lucky enough to work on events for some amazing brands and companies like Veuve Cliquot, Pizza Express, and Malmaison hotels, feature live on the prime time Andrew Peach Show on ‘BBC Radio Berkshire’, play residencies on luxury cruise ships in the Caribbean, USA, South America and Asia as well as a few festivals. But some of our favourite gigs are the personal, intimate ones. We do love weddings, and being able to arrange a special song to create the perfect moment is one of our favourite things to do as musicians. We were so so happy with Mia and Dan at our wedding. They look fantastic, they’re music and selection is amazing and so many guests were amazed at our fabulous band! They are so friendly and helped everything go smoothly for our welcome drinks. We couldn’t of asked for a better band and they added that extra special touch for our day. After seeing The True Colours perform and hosted them at our venue, we booked them for our wedding. Mia and Dan’s range of music is fantastic and a must for any big occasion. Due to covid we have to postpone our wedding twice, through which they have been incredible in accommodating us. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a top quality band. What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love our acoustic arrangements of their favourite songs, we've been known to bring people to tears with a version of 'their song'! People enjoy the large variety of decades and genres we cover, often commenting that we create the 'perfect atmosphere' with our music.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We've performed at many beautiful venues such as Botleys Mansion, Cain Manor, Notley Abbey, Oakley Hall, The Dorchester in London and Winchester Guildhall as well as luxury cruise ships and hotels.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Rock and pop greats such as Fleetwood Mac, and Queen, blues and soul legends like Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder... From more recent times we love artists like Walk Off The Earth, Boyce Avenue, Ed Sheeran and Adele.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We've performed to audiences of up to 2000 onboard luxury ships such as the Celebrity Eclipse, as well as events such as the Great British Gin Festival and even played a gig live on BBC Radio Berkshire.

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, we play as an acoustic duo with male and female vocals, ukulele and guitar. We can also add our rhythm section (bass and drums) for our 4 piece acoustic band, and we also play as a fully electric party band with DJ service (please see The True Colours Band profile).

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and is included with all bookings.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can you roam around while you perform?

For small groups, we can perform completely acoustically whilst moving around, although for the best sound across a large group of people, we recommend we perform in a central performance space or stage.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

You are more than welcome to request certain songs and artists from our large repertoire and we will craft a set list using our years of live experience that will create the perfect atmosphere for your event. For ultimate personalisation, we offer a consultation service which includes us learning up to 3 songs for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, for our acoustic performances, we use specialised PA and simple lighting. We require 2x3m ideally to perform comfortably.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it, so do ask if there's a special song you'd like. We also have our set personalisation service where we can learn and arrange up to 3 songs for you.
