The Soul Shebang are an eight-piece live soul band bringing the energy, warmth and excitement of classic soul to weddings, parties, corporate events and festivals across the UK. Fronted by powerhouse female vocals and featuring a full live horn section, we play a dancefloor-filling mix of Motown, Stax, Northern Soul and funk — from Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding to Candi Staton, Jackie Wilson and plenty more. We’re not a generic function band playing everything from every decade. Soul is what we do, and that gives our show a distinctive sound and character — but our set is packed with familiar songs, big choruses and irresistible grooves designed to keep a party moving. The band has performed at festivals including Tribfest, Harrogate Food Festival, Manchester Food Festival and Temple Newsam Food Festival, with repeat bookings at leading live venues including Matt & Phred’s in Manchester and Domino in Leeds. For private events we can provide professional PA, sound engineer and basic lighting, and we’re happy to discuss special requests to make the night personal to you. Eight musicians. Live horns. Soul Shebang were absolutely fantastic for our venue and we've been having good reviews for days. They're a fantastic band, they blend well and are very professional on and off the stage. Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes

Do you have different line-up options?

No - our line-up is always the same Lead female vocal Backing female vocal Keyboard + lead and backing vocal Guitar Bass Saxophone + trumpet

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can provide this if the music style required is clearly stated beforehand . The service would not be available after we finish the second ( last set) set as we use this time to pack down as quickly as possible

How much time do you need to set up?

Two hours

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set list is flexible but the songs in the current list are what we play ( 2x45 minute sets) The second set can stretch beyond 45 minutes

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We can squeeze into reasonably small spaces but please remember there are eight of us and although we like each other's company we do need space for equipment - drums and keyboards can't shrink any smaller!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes - with notice. As there are eight of us it takes time to arrange and learn new material not in our set list . There is a fee of £50 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc
