The Rosewood Duo was formed in 2024 by Dorset musicians Keri Astill-Frew and James Shannon. A few jam sessions revealed a shared love of acoustic music – and natural chemistry – and the duo quickly took shape. With heartfelt vocals, rhythmic guitar, live flute melodies, and percussion, they create a sound that’s both polished and personal. Their set moves easily from upbeat pop and acoustic rock to indie favourites, folk, and touches of country and Americana – all played 100% live, with no backing tracks. Keri has been singing since childhood, classically trained on flute and piano, and spent years fronting covers bands. She now puts all that experience into crafting performances that feel personal and unforgettable. About James James is the guitar and rhythmic backbone of The Rosewood Duo. He’s been playing since the age of four, and his style moves effortlessly from delicate fingerpicking to lively, percussive rhythms that bring energy and texture to every song. As well as guitar, James adds live percussion and harmonies, giving the duo their full, layered sound. His love of great songwriting means every track is played with intention, whether it’s a well-loved classic or a modern favourite. Having toured across the UK and Europe — and regularly performing in Ireland with acclaimed singer-songwriter Don Mescall — James brings a wealth of live experience, adding polish and heart to every performance.
