We have a wide repertoire of tunes and dances and can provide either a traditional Scottish ceilidh with all the best known dances such as Strip The Willow, Dashing White Sergeant, Gay Gordons, etc. or we can play a more English-style ceilidh or barn dance, with festival favourites such as The Willow Tree, Cornish Six Hand Reel and Nottingham Swing, as well as dozens of rarer ones for the discerning ceilidh enthusiast. We're used to playing for all sorts of crowds, from complete beginners to hardened regular ceilidh-goers. The band includes a caller and we provide all our own sound equipment as well as Public Liability Insurance and PAT certificates for events or venues that require them. The band includes fiddle, accordion and percussion. As well as the full 3-piece band we also offer smaller line-ups - a duo or one-man ceilidh band.

The New Fox Band were FABULOUS! They were the best ceilidh band i have experienced. So clear with instructions, excellent music, very polite and punctual. Will 100% book then for our next gig. Book them you won’t regret it!

My initial contact was with Paul and immediately he made me feel at ease telling me that they would provide whatever level of dances I wanted. On the night itself they were prompt and very professional in setting up and discussing the evenings programme. The dances were called amazingly well and they made allowances for our party members not being familiar with celidth dancing. Their personalities shone through and the evening was a huge success. I would recommend this small celidth band to anyone wanting a more intimate gathering although I also feel that they could certainly adapt their repitoire to any size group. New Fox band were absolutely amazing at our wedding. They provided amazing and entertainment and had everyone up on their feet dancing. All prices include:Time policy: • The standard prices cover us being at the venue for up to 4 and a half hours including 1 hour of setup time. • e.g. If we were arriving at 6.30 pm to be set up ready by 7.30 pm we could play any time up until 11 pm. • Typically we play two sets of 45-60 minutes each, or one long set. Our standard rates cover up to two hours of total performance time. Travel costs: • Within 15 miles of York: free • 15-75 miles from York: 50p per mile each way from York, after the first 15 miles • More than 75 miles from York: contact us for an exact quote

Instrumental only.

Do you have different line-up options?

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes.

Do you provide a caller?

Yes, there is a caller included in the band. Paul has a large repertoire of dances suitable for everyone from complete beginners right up to experienced regular ceilidh dancers, including all the usual Scottish and English favourites.
