Hi Pat and Jim, Thank you for leaving us a review, and for your kind comments about our excellent music; our aim is to ensure parties and dancing go smoothly and are enjoyable for all. I was surprised by some of your comments, as such a good time seemed to be had by everyone at your party, and I would like to address a couple of the points you raised if I may. Firstly, you will hopefully recall that I had tried to telephone you before your special day whilst you were away in Cornwall and could not take my call. When you were available to talk to me, I am sorry that this was not as soon as you would like it to have been. During that call you appeared more than happy to provide food and drinks for the band, informing me that there would be vegetarian and gluten free options available if required. You said yes to two rounds of drinks. Thank you for your hospitality, it was much appreciated as we had travelled over 100 miles in total to perform for you. I gave you the option of timings on the phone and you went away to discuss with family, replying to me that evening; we tried to stick to the timings you wanted. It was unfortunate that there seemed to be a delay in serving your buffet, as you had told me 6.30, whereas it did not appear until around 7.15 (you had asked us to start the dancing at 7pm). This pushed everything back; we then played to accompany the buffet, and then extended the dancing time at the end to make it up. You had booked us via Encore for two hours of music and we were happy (and always are) to do this in two sets with a short break in the middle, or for you to have your food first then have one continuous set of dancing. It was your choice. We are always happy to be flexible to meet the needs of our clients and we were happy to accommodate your requirements. What becomes more difficult though, is when things change on the day, ie food service being at a different time. We were more than happy to provide a microphone for Jim's speech. Had we known beforehand you wanted to borrow one, we could have performed a quick sound check for him before he started and a bit of advice for him about how to use a mic. I could hear Jim perfectly well, albeit a little quietly, and the mic used was one of the ones we had been using all evening with no issues. Finally, our caller is lovely. She is skilled in dealing with dancers of all abilities and sometimes has to change tack to help on the dance floor! It's a style that is designed to put dancers at their ease and increase their confidence. Thank you for booking the band; we wish you many more years of happiness together. Thank you for your review Rob. We enjoyed the evening and your guests certainly looked to be enjoying themselves very much. I agree that having to set up behind the curtain very quietly whilst your guests were having dinner was not ideal, and didn't present the opportunity for a sound check prior to starting. The extra time we added to the end of the dancing more than compensated for the glitches at the beginning as your guests showed no signs of slowing - I think they could have danced all night! A great evening was had by all.
