The ultimate indie pop & rock band, The MonStars, have the energy, experience and skills to keep the party going all through the night. Their full line-up is a 4-piece band with lead vocals and guitar, bass with backing vocals, drums with backing vocals, and a lead guitarist. They can do a more compact lineup with 3 band members with backing tracks to give that full twinkly radio-esq sound. The band has been bringing the best of Britpop, rock, indie and pop hits to events up and down the country since 2019, and have been described as ‘epic’ and ‘absolutely fantastic’ from past clients, so you rest assured you’ll get a stellar performance from The MonStars. The band members are so friendly, and warm. They love to have fun and bring people together. They are more than happy to make announcements on the mic for you during your event to ensure everyone does what you need them to do at just the right time, whether that’s to gather for the first dance, or to grab some food at the buffet, or to go outside for fireworks, or to run outside for skinnydipping in the lake (yes, they’ve even MC’ed for that before!), the band have you covered! The MonStars is fronted by the unstoppable force of energy and sheer vocal prowess delivered by Edwin! With a decade of experience under his belt, Edwin brings an unmatched level of high-octane excitement to every stage he graces. Showing a keen versatility in playing lots of styles in his years of experience in function bands. His high-energy, move-busting, and high-note belting abilities set him apart as a true entertainer. Producers of Britain's Got Talent were wowed by his performance and exclaimed "you've got some serious range mate!". Edwin has also toured with Canadian 80's metal legends: ANVIL. Their sound is further solidified by Chris Swan on bass and backing vocals, his extensive experience in the function and corporate industry ensures a smooth and professional experience from start to finish. The electrifying Jake on lead guitar, a graduate of The Academy Of Contemporary Music, Jake brings not only technical skill but also a wealth of experience from touring with original acts, theatre shows, and studio sessions. All supported by the powerhouse drumming of Dan, a professional drummer and percussionist, Dan keeps the beat steady and the energy high. Having toured and even recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, Dan brings a wealth of experience and professionalism to every gig. With a repertoire of over 100 songs, The MonStars are the perfect 3 or 4-piece indie pop & rock band for your event and can guarantee to get the young and the young at heart on the dance floor. Whether it's a wedding, birthday party or another special occasion, The MonStars will have you and your guests dancing all night long. Their repertoire spans multiple decades and genres, with their specialism definitely in the rock-pop pocket. Genres in their repertoire include Britpop, rock, indie, pop-rock, pop, funk & soul, and Christmas songs. The MonStars welcome you to tailor the setlist for your big day. For a standard 2x60 mins or 3x40mins performance you can select up to 32 songs from the band’s 100 song repertoire, and the band will endeavour to accommodate all of your requests, given a month’s notice. For short notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. The MonStars is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, for example, a first dance or your favourite song.

The MonStars performed at our wedding recently and were fantastic. All of our guests commented on how good they were and their choice of setlist and consideration of our requests made for a brilliant atmosphere. We did have two changes to the line-up in advance but they gave us notice on each occasion and were able to help us source replacements. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great indie/rock/pop party band!

Overall the experience was great, we had lots of communication with Rhona who was the band agent for the Monstars and she was lovely. The Monstars band were really good and our guests on the day were complimentary about the music. Our only slight annoyance was the fact we chose The Monstars based on hearing the preview videos and in particular we were really impressed with the lead singers (Adam) voice. We were informed by Rhona 6 weeks before the big day that Adam would not be around for family reasons. These things happen and we were fine with it, however as good as the replacement singer was (Ollie) his style of voice was not what we had wanted for the songs we chose and so the vibe was totally different on the day. Overall a very good experience and we would recommend, perhaps we were just the unlucky ones.

We recently had Monstars perform at our wedding and were blown away by how brilliant they were. The band's entire performance was energetic, fun, and had people of all ages dancing from the moment they started to the moment they finished at the end of the night (to chants from our guests of "One more song!"). A great song selection and some brilliant moments, including Adam the singer coming onto the dance floor for some of the performances (which everyone loved). All our guests have since said how fantastic they were. We would book them again in a heartbeat!

The band was absolutely brilliant and really made the evening reception. Henry was so charismatic and interacted with the guests so well. They learnt and performed our first dance song, which was wonderful. The variety of songs was brilliant. My guests were hounding them for more when they finished!!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We think they love our audience-interaction skills. Our lead vocalist-guitarist always has at least a couple of moments when he gets into the crowd and gets everyone involved. It's usually towards the end of the night and everyone is really keen for it!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed at over 223 venues over the years. Multiple times in many of those venues. Far too many to list here, but some of them include Gildings Barn, Tylney Hall, Wotton House, Narborough Hall Gardens, Canada Lake & Lodge, Audleys Wood Hotel, Burley Manor, Bush Hall, Islington Assembly Hall, Essendon Country Club & Brighton Marina.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We love our indie music. The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Oasis, Blur, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys. And of course we take lots of inspiration from great pop artists, like The Beatles, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Golly gosh, our band members have played for and with Sir Paul McCartney, Nile Rodgers, Flea, performed on Channel 4 supporting Pixie Lott, played at the famous Roundhouse, toured internationally, played at Download, Bloodstock Open Air, Bestival and Isle of Wight festivals, and play at Glastonbury every year.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-auditioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band, our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: Lead Male Vocals & Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass, Drums and Backing Vocals. We can add members if you've got something in particular in mind.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA for before, in-between and after live sets until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £278.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes! We've got over 100 songs you can pick from. :)

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 3m by 4m space to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it, so please don't hesitate to ask! If there is a special song you'd like us to learn, we are more than happy to do this for you, free of charge. For every additional 'off-the-menu' song there is a fee of £50 to take into account rehearsal times etc.
