We are a modern céilí band based in East London, available for celebrations and gatherings across the UK and beyond. We bring social dancing to traditional live music. We typically perform as a four-piece line-up, led by Grace on uilleann pipes and Bryony as our caller, providing clear, beginner-friendly instructions. We’re joined by our favourite fiddle and guitar players from London’s vibrant folk scene. A larger or smaller line-up is available on request, with optional instruments such as bodhrán, accordion, flute, or banjo. Our music is lively and intricate, reflecting years of playing and performing traditional folk music since childhood — a honing of craft. We use the Irish spelling, ‘céilí’, rather than the more commonly used Scottish spelling, ‘ceilidh’, as a nod to our musical lineage. Our dances and tunes draw from both traditions and can be tailored to suit your event. Our céilís are inclusive and fun. No prior céilí dancing experience is required, and everyone’s welcome on the floor. Whether you’re planning a wedding, birthday, community fête, or any other occasion, we bring live traditional music, warmth, and energy wherever we play.

Thank you for making our evening wedding reception an absolute blast! The music led by Grace was superb, we loved having a female pipe player. Briony’s calling was brilliant, getting all involved with good humour and clear instruction. Our guests are still commenting on what an amazing evening they had with The Lemon Céilí Co. Thank you again for helping to make our special day so memorable and so much fun!

Absolutely amazing, communication beforehand was excellent. On time and what a time was had by all our guests, grace got everyone involved and they all danced away to the excellent music. Huge positive feedback from our guests so I cannot recommend enough

This band was absolutely brilliant! They were incredibly talented, punctual, professional and with a huge knowledge of all things ceilidh. They totally put all of my very much beginner party at ease (most of whom were doing their first ceilidh!), and the caller Briony was fabulous- providing clear, friendly and humourous instructions! The set up they brought with them was too notch, from immaculate sound system to fantastic lighting. We had the best time with this band. I would 100% recommend them and would absolutely book them again. Thanks!

The Lemon Ceili Co were a joyous addition to our big day. Their bouncy tunes got the full wedding party up on the dance floor and they gave easy-to-follow, clear instructions to guide us. They were warm, charismatic, professional and laid-back. Our guests raved about them, as do we to this day!

We struck gold with The Lemon Ceili Co. We'd been to a fair few ceilidhs and thought it'd be a lovely to have one at our wedding. The evening turned out to be more than we could've hoped for - music you can't resist dancing to (they're clearly incredible musicians) and friendly faces to match.

Can you perform covers?

Our music is traditional folk music - so covers of sorts...

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes we do. Our core line up is fiddle; pipes; guitar and a caller. We can provide a larger band with a wider range of instruments, including accordion; flute; and bodhran; should you prefer.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always our best to be flexible. If timings change in advance, we're usually able to accommodate, subject to band availability.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We're more than happy to play a playlist of your choosing through our PA. The fee for this will be dependent on timings and distance to travel.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually arrive an hour before we are due to start performing (the set up itself takes around half an hour).

Do you provide a caller?

Yes we do, but if you don't need one and are looking for something less structured, that's fine with us too.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We do our best to fulfil special requests from within our vast repertoire of traditional songs and dances.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA) included in your quote?

All of the equipment is included in your quote. All we need is access to a plug socket (within about 20m) and four chairs.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes we can.
