About The Kings of Oblivion

60's and 70's covers band. Psychedelia to Glam Rock. The golden age of Rock and Pop. Six Piece band for all your party and gig needs!
60s tribute band
Dartford
Public liability insurance of £10 million

The Kings Of Oblivion are a six-piece band from London and North West Kent, playing covers from the 60’s and 70’s. Formed by members of a CD album club in 2008, the Kings have played to audiences all over London and the home counties. They like to play some of the more interesting sounds rather than picking the obvious hits. You’ll still recognise most of the songs straight away, but some will have you wondering where you’ve heard them before. The Kings dress for the occasion with a fine wardrobe of paisley shirts , hipsters, large lapel shirts and flares. Lead singer Chris started his career with psychedelic revivalists The Silence who featured on the famous and now very collectable Splash of Colour LP. With next band The Bicycle Thieves he was joined by current Kings drummer Steve Penfold ( The Baloons, To The Finland Station) and released two very well regarded singles, becaming one of the most loved south east London bands in the mid to late ‘80’s. Chris’s highly distinctive voice, heavy on the vibrato is a key element to the Kings of Oblivion sound. Jeanette is the female half of the King’s vocal team. Jeanette, along with Hamish Champ and Andy Linden used to be in legendary Lewisham band The Wait. Part ice-maiden, part go-go dancer, Jeanette brings style and glamour to the Kings of Oblivion. Jeanette’s vocals perfectly complement Chris’s and their onstage rapport is a major feature of the band’s performance. Guitarist Chris Firthis the mystery member of the band. Once there were only 5 Kings of Oblivion then a man appeared on a flaming pie and said you shall now be 6 Kings of Oblivion because now you will have a fab guitarist who can do ginormous solos and knows when the rest of you are getting the chords all wrong. And so they became 6 Kings of Oblivion and not 5. Thank you Mr Man they said thanking him.

"I have just hired the Kings Of Oblivion for a 70th birthday party. They have an impressively large repertoire of mostly 60s (and some 70s) songs and I was able to select from these the ones I wanted them to play at my party. We had not used the venue before but the band arrived in pouring rain, set up swiftly and dealt any potential problems professionally and with good humour, The band was brilliant! Lots of our guests remarked on how much they enjoyed them. They played two 40 minute sets. The two vocalists both have stage persona and excellent voices. My friends danced the night away to their sets and loved them. The whole place rocked!" Vernon

Thank you soooooo much for your flawless performance last night! Mike was completely floored and soooooo impressed! (I already know you’re all brilliant 😊) He absolutely loved The Cure (Love song) and so did his friend Cure Buddy for life! Mike said none of them could fault it! Everyone kept saying how much they enjoyed your band. Did you notice so many friends came into the dance floor immediately and stayed there throughout your performance? 😊 Please thank all your band members also for me! 😊 (And to Jacky and other band member partners for their wonderful energy and company). We really appreciated it. It would not have been such a wonderful party without you all! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thuy & Mike
