We are a trio / duo band based in Cardiff, South Wales. Established in 2007, we have over 15 years of experience playing a variety of events all across Wales and the South West. If you want to create a personal and fun atmosphere at your event then The Italics Band is your perfect choice. Since forming in 2007, our band has helped to create wonderful memories at wedding breakfasts, private parties, drinks receptions and club/ pub events. Every event is different and we want to make yours memorable and special. We can work with you beforehand to select your favourite songs from our extensive and ever changing set list - playing classic rock, pop, disco, RnB or outright cheese! Songs from our set list range from Tracy Chapman to The Beatles, Kings of Leon to Neil Diamond and The Rolling Stones to Ed Sheeran.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We are a very versatile band that knows 400+ songs and can play a wide variety of genre to a wide age range . We often take songs that you would not usually hear played by a band and give them a new perspective which makes us unique. We are known for taking requests throughout our set.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We had a 8 year residency in the Live Lounge in Cardiff. We currently play all the Brains pubs in the South Wales area as well as many wedding venues/ hotels and bars.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We are influenced by many artist from The Beatles to Johnny Cash to Oasis and Ed Sheeran.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We have played in many summer festivals in Cardiff and Swansea. We have also played in some private parties/ events for some high profile celebrities and businesses.

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes. We play as either a trio or a duo. Trio consists of singer /guitarist, piano player and percussionist (cajon drum). Duo is singer/guitarist with either piano player or percussionist.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

If you just let us know before the event we will always try to work around what is best for you to make the event a special occasion

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

No problem at all. This something that we often are requested to provide. We also offer a Disco option too for weddings, parties etc for a small additional fee (£50-100)

How much time do you need to set up?

Around 45mins to an 1hr will be fine. We can play songs through our PA when setting up to set the atmosphere for a live performance.

Can you roam around while you perform?

We usually play with our microphones attached to stands.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Absolutely. We can even learn a special song for your first dance etc

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes our equipment is all included.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes no problem

These guys are superb. They play once a month at our bar and a real favourite with our regular customers. They can play anything they’re like a jukebox. Great band.

The Italics made our party for us. The boys played non stop for 2hrs taking requests. A really good mix of songs for everyone. Go and see them live!
