What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love the energy we bring, the unique acoustic take on classic dance anthems, and how we get people singing along from the very first song. We don’t just play music - we create a fun, relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels part of the night.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We’ve performed at venues including The Spinning Wheel, Paignton; The Box Office Lounge, Torquay; and The Saracens Head, Newton Abbot, as well as private parties and special events across Devon.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Accepted Answer

We absolutely love 90s and 00s dance music. Artists like Haddaway, Culture Beat, Robin S, Baby D, Livin’ Joy, Cascada, Ultra Naté and Alice Deejay inspired the soundtrack to so many great nights out. We love singing these songs, performing them and seeing people relive those moments with us.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

One of our standout gigs so far has been performing at The Spinning Wheel in Paignton, one of the South West’s best-known live music venues. It was a fantastic night with a brilliant crowd, and we’re excited to keep building on that as we take The Hype to more venues, festivals and events.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The Hype is Lloyd and Charlotte, and the performers you see in our videos are the people you’ll see at your event. If an exceptional circumstance ever arose, we’d always discuss it with you beforehand.

Do you have different line-up options?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our standard line-up is our acoustic duo, but for larger weddings, corporate events and parties we can add a keyboard player for an even bigger, fuller live sound.

Question 7

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Accepted Answer

We’re always happy to be as flexible as possible. If your timings change before the event, just let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. Clear communication in advance helps us make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

Question 8

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can provide background music before, between and after our live sets using our PA system, helping to keep the atmosphere going throughout your event.

How much time do you need to set up?

Accepted Answer

We usually need around 60–90 minutes to set up and soundcheck. We’ll always arrive in plenty of time and work with your venue to make sure everything is ready before we start.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Accepted Answer

Our set lists are carefully put together to keep the party going, so we don’t usually offer a choose-your-own set list. If there’s a song you’d really love to hear, let us know before the event and we’ll always do our best to fit it in, although we can’t guarantee every request.

Question 11

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our quote includes our professional PA system, lighting, setup, soundcheck and pack down. We bring everything needed for a great live performance, so all we need from you is a suitable performance space and access to power.

Question 12

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Accepted Answer

If you have a special song in mind, let us know as early as possible and we’ll always see if it’s something we can learn. While we can’t guarantee every request, we’ll do our best to make it happen where possible.
