The Hot Shoes is an energetic swing ensemble, that guarantees to get your feet tapping with their exciting arrangements from the swing era and beyond. The band was founded with dancing in mind, but we find that our broad repertoire is popular with all ages and tastes. Ideal for weddings, parties and dance events the Hot Shoes is a professional, experienced and entertaining band that always goes down well! The Hot Shoes often perform as a quartet or quintet for more cozy intimate gigs, but we are more in our element as the 'full throttle' 6 piece band heard on the recordings. The core element of our music is based on the 1920s swing style, including classic swing songs such as the Charleston, It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing and Is you is or is you ain't my baby. However, we also cater for a larger audience by performing up to date chart songs by artists such as George Ezra, Beyonce, Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk and many more. The Hot Shoes was founded in 2014 by two recent graduates of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Pete Komor and Jack Perry-Cockings. Pete and Jack have lead bands that have performed at many Jazz clubs and festivals, including London Jazz festival, Brecon Jazz festival, Langnau Jazz Nights Switzerland, The 606 Club London, the Vortex, Hay Festival of literature and art and countless more. We have also had the privilege to play for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and other prestigious events for clients such as GQ magazine.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: Vocals, Sax, Trumpet, Guitar, Double bass and Drums. We also have a 7 piece option that includes and extra Sax, or reduced 4/5 piece options to suit all budgets.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know! If you would like to alter the length of time we will be playing for let us know and we can adjust the fee if necessary.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer music in-between our sets for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we can provide this for an additional cost.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can you roam around while you perform?

Unfortunately with our full lineup we are unable to roam, but the reduced versions of the band may be able to move around between songs!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from many performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. If you have specific requirements we are arable to hire and set up additional equipment, but we may have to pass some of the hire cost on to you.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £100 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.

We booked the Hot Shoes for our dirty 30s birthday shin dig, and they made our event what it was - we were so impressed. We've had guests ask us where we found them! They had us all up and dancing, and the sets were over all too soon. Thank you so much to Peter and the rest of the band, you were amazing.

We couldn't have been more delighted with Hot Shoes performance, the dance floor was packed from the moment they started and stayed that way for the whole set!

They were amazingly relaxed and flexible - exactly what you need on your wedding day when nothing seems to run quite to plan!”
