The Hicksters – Ploughing a deep furrow of Americana and Celtic Country Blues. The Hicksters formed in the summer of 2014 when a group of Aberystwyth musicians came together at the last minute as a scratch band for local music venue Rummers Bar. The night was such a success that the band were asked to play a regular night and have been doing so every Thursday at Rummers ever since and have garnered a reputation much further afield, gaining rave reviews at festivals and other events. The current lineup consists of 6 accomplished musicians with a wealth of experience between them. Inspired by, and paying tribute to artists from the worlds of country, rock, blues and folk, their repertoire is wide ranging and truly eclectic. From Irish jigs and reels, through bluegrass and country to 70s Southern rock, audiences are captivated by their joyous and infectious enthusiasm for the music they love. 4 part vocal harmonies, fiddle, banjo, guitars, bass and drums ensure a depth of soundscape and arrangement that makes you dance and sing your heart out with them.
