About The Flames

Indie rock & pop trio
Indie band
Loughton
Public liability insurance of £2 million
Verified profile

This male fronted pop, rock and indie trio is composed of lead male vocals on rhythm guitar, bass, and drums with plenty of backing vocals. With over 100 of the best sing along and dance-floor filling songs in their repertoire The Flames will play exactly what you want to hear at you wedding, corporate event, or function. All counterparts of this trio are successful industry musicians, in fact, Jay on drums is a member of The Libertines spin off band, The Jackals. The Flames comes as a compact 3 piece line up. The band is led by Adam on guitar and vocals, with Terri on bass and backing vocals and Jay on drums and backing vocals. Terri and Jay are self-taught musical enthusiasts and Adam has fine-tuned his skills at the British Institute of Modern Music in both guitar and vocals. Drummer Jay is also a member of the Libertines spin off band The Jackals. If you like your indie music you might recognise the name! The Flames have played at Bush Hall, Islington O2, Shepherd’s Bush Empire; have played with Supergrass, Travis, Frank Turner, Eagles of Death Metal; and have even sat down and written with Jess Glynne! They’ve got an extensive repertoire of over 100 songs covering largely indie, alternative, rock and Britpop with a sprinkling of international commercial pop songs across the decades - just take a look! Once you’ve booked the band you can count on excellent and fast communication, as well as having full control over what songs the band plays on your special night. The band will make sure they’re 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. They’ll also bring their best party stories for your guests to chat about into between the sets, including letting your guests guess who which of the band is in an Aerosmith tribute and which band member did a car journey in a VW Polo to Mongolia and back to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society! The band brings a full PA, lighting rig and their beautiful smiles with them wherever they go.

Highly recommend The Flames, compliments from all the guests and the dance floor wasn’t empty all night. From the first song to the last our guests partied the night away. Very professional and a nice bunch of lads who interacted well with the guests.

Loved having The Flames at our wedding. They have a great repertoire, we were contacted by them beforehand so we could let them know any songs we wanted or didn’t want playing. Music was great and the atmosphere was brilliant.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: Lead Male Vocals / Rhythm Guitar, Bass, Drums and Backing Vocals. The band plays along to backing tracks to give a fuller sound. We can also add members if you've got something in particular in mind.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA for before, in-between and after live sets until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £278.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually need 1.5 hours to set up and can arrive from 5pm to do this (for an evening performance). As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can you roam around while you perform?

Adam, our lead vocalist will often jump into the audience and get people to sing along with him.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes! We've got over 100 songs you can pick from. :)

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 3m by 4m space to perform

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it, so please don't hesitate to ask! If there is a special song you'd like us to learn, we are more than happy to do this for you, free of charge. For every additional 'off-the-menu' song there is a fee of £50 to take into account rehearsal times etc.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

People love our lead man, Adam. He's a charmer, with brilliant performance skills, bags of energy, and together with the band they really bring the party with them.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed at over 223 venues over the years. Multiple times in many of those venues. Far too many to list here, but some of them include Brighton Marina, Islington Assembly Hall, Thrumpton Hall, Essendon Country Club, Owlpen Manor Estate, Ferry House Inn, Stokes Farm Barn, Botleys Mansion, Freshford Hall, Primrose Hill Farm & Tylney Hall.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Oasis, Blur, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Foo Fighters, The White Stripes, Muse, Green Day, The Black Keys, CCR, The Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Snow Patrol, The Fratellis, Franz Ferdinand, The Script, Royal Blood, Wheatus, Mark Ronson, Paolo Nutini & Ed Sheeran.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The band has played at Bush Hall, Islington O2, Shepherd’s Bush Empire; have played with Supergrass, Travis, Frank Turner, Eagles of Death Metal; and have even sat down and written with Jess Glynne!
