About The Covers Brothers

Acoustic duo
Derby
Public liability insurance of £10 million
Verified profile
The Covers Brothers play acoustic versions of classic songs from the 50's to the present day, and yes, they are actually brothers

The Covers Brothers are real life siblings Paul and Steven Herron. Having played together for over 15 years, they share the same love for all harmony based classic pop music from the early sounds of 50s America through to the Britpop days of the 90s. When they sing, the sound tells you they're brothers, and when they chat in between songs you can tell they're from the north east! No backing tracks, no electronic trickery, just two voices and two acoustic guitars, simple, authentic, and fun.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

No, we tend to stick to the duo, 2 acoustic guitars, 2 vocals. It's what we do!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We're usually pretty flexible, just get in touch!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We certainly can, get in touch and we can discuss what you're after, a DJ service will cost more than a simple playlist.

How much time do you need to set up?

Our record is 15 minutes :-) but we always tend to give ourselves 30-45 minutes, obviously we can get there earlier if we need to, again, speak to us!

Can you roam around while you perform?

No, we would get very tangled and look a bit silly.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

In a word, yes.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

All quotes include all equipment unless another agreement is reached, Our equipment is fully PAT tested and we have full liability insurance.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, get in touch and we can discuss options.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We're easy going, enthusiastic, and we love taking requests, even if we sometimes say no (Some people don't seem to realise that we don't know every song ever written). Every gig is different and requires a slightly different approach, we're more than happy to embrace that, whether it be background music, or more of a party atmosphere.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We've performed at something like 200 venues, we actually made a list a few months ago, but it's been added to a lot since then.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Crowded House, The Beatles, REM, Oasis, Blur, Queen, Dire Straits...... look at our songlist and that probably answers the question.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We played at the switching on of the Derby Christmas lights, we were once flown to upstate New York to play a wedding. Both of which were brilliant.

Steven and Paul have worked for me at three venues successfully for the last two years. The Orange Tree Derby, The Risley Park and The Hunting Lodge. The lads have been a dream to deal with and have never showed up late, cancelled last minute or caused any issues at all. All venue feedback has been fantastic and they’ve never failed to bring the house down. I have 25 acts on rotation at The Orange Tree and their first choice was the Covers Brothers this New Years. They absolutely smashed it! Cheers boys.

Hired the covers brothers for my engagement do. They were great, as I knew they would be. As always, good harmonies and fun on stage presence. Had many compliments about them after the event, and they even let me help to choose the songs they performed. Would recommend.
