Band members: Ray Knowles (lead vocals, guitar, violin), Rick Parker (lead guitar, banjo, harmonicas, backing vocals), Chris Bramwell (acoustic guitar, vocal harmonies),Tony Tarling (bass guitar), Clive Atwill (drums). We have a combined total of over 150 years of performing experience between us. As well as private events, we have played twice at American Speedfest at Brands Hatch, Kent as well as Western themed parties, weddings and events nationwide. We're happy to play as a 4 or 5 piece band, add any special song requests to our repertoire, and if requested, let a guest join in with vocals on a song. Band lighting, a quality sound system and Public Liability insurance provided. We're happy to discuss any wishes you may have beforehand and if you wish, you can meet us to see if we are the kind of band you are looking for. We can be totally flexible with performing times if they change on the day and provide interval music if required.

The Chiltern Hillbillies were the best choice we ever made for our wedding. They communicated really clearly and even met with us to play some songs so that we got a feel of their repertoire/sound before booking. They worked around us to ensure they were set up ahead of time and did not disturb during the speeches. Fabulous playing, they set the tone brilliantly. We have had so many comments about what excellent musicians they are and many said how they were the best and a wedding they've ever been to. We had a range of ages and people. We even brought everyone some cowboy hats which went down a hit! We will 100% be considering The Chiltern Hillbillies at our next event!

Although I had to change the venue (three times) and the date, the Chiltern Hillbillies were so understanding and helpful. On the day, our Golden Wedding Anniversary, they were far more professional and accommodating than one might have expected, doing everything they could to make it a great night. Music was all spot on too and a great bunch of friendly guys.

The Chiltern Hillbillies are a fantastic inclusive/friendly band for all ages. We had them playing at our annual barn dance and they had people up and dancing straight away. They are a professional outfit and very keen to please. They even let some of the guests come up with them to sing! They play some real classics and are a great choice for a country themed event.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We are a five-piece band. Our line-up is as follows: Vocals/Guitar/Violin, Harmony Vocals/ Acoustic Guitar/Keys/Mandolin, Harmony Vocals/Guitar/Banjo/Harmonica, Bass, Drums. We can perform either electrically or acoustically.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we can also provide this..

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes, as a 3 or 4 piece acoustically if preferred.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We require sufficient space for a 5-piece with drums to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our good-time feel, variety of material and willingness to include the audience in our performances. A wide range of songs for everyone to enjoy - including those who are not just country music fans, We are a band keen on good sound quality as well as giving everyone a good time, so those who don't want to dance can enjoy the music too!
