About The Candy Girls

Top vintage harmony group - regulars at Goodwood Revival, Chelsea Flower show & featured in a BAFTA nominated movie starring Michael Caine!
Vintage band
London
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Hi - we're The Candy Girls, we are one of the UK's top vintage groups. Let us serve you up a taste of a bygone era and bring instant vintage glamour to your event or party! Comprised of professional performers who have been working in the industry for a number of years, we have appeared at several Royal Gala’s (singing for the Queen no less!) and at high profile events performing for the likes of Richard Branson, Jamie Oliver, Chris Evans and Donny and Marie Osmond. We gig at high profile vintage festivals, events and venues, including Goodwood Revival, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, BAFTA, Churchill War Rooms and The Princes Trust. In 2014, we were honoured to be involved in the D-Day 70th Anniversary commemorations, singing for veterans on their journey to Normandy, resulting in global press and TV coverage. Ten years on, and we were asked to appear in a film about this event, starring Michael Caine. We sang at the premiere too - one of the highlights of our careers so far! We offer a range of vingate themes; Gatsby style 20s & 30s, War time 1940s, Rock n roll 1950s and modern songs that have been given a retro make over! We are also avaialble as the worlds first (and only!) Singing Usherettes - get your event started in style, as we weave through the audience singing in beautiful three-part harmony, distributing sweets (or your own personalised merchandise), before performing a rip-roaring set full of classic hits and modern songs in a vintage style. This unique act will enliven your evening and enrapture your guests! We can perform with backing tracks, a full live backing band, a cappella or a lounge set with pianist. Perfect for corporate events, weddings, festivals, tea parties, military bases and vintage themed events.

Thank you so much for taking part in The Mayor of Hillingdon’s Coronation Picnic event on Sunday 7 May 2023. Your group was stunning, you worked so hard to pull off such an amazing performance. I have been stunned by the amount of positive feedback I have already received. It was a wonderful event and we will definitely use you again in the future.

Customer questions

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

There are a few we could choose from but I think we would have to say singing at the London movie premiere of the film we were also in, The Great Escaper starring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson, was a massive highlight for us.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard line-up is 3x vocalists, performing with backing tracks or a cappella. We also offer a 4-piece lounge style set with pianist and a 7-piece live band which includes Guitar, Keys, Drums, Sax, Trombone and Trumpet.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know, and we can be flexible to some degree on the day too if things don't run to time.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

For sure! We provide a background playlist before and in between sets as standard, or you're welcome to plug your own playlist into our system. If you would like us to do DJ set with our PA system after the final set, we can provide this for an additional £100, with a finish time of midnight latest.

How much time do you need to set up?

This depends on the option you book, but for our standard trio line up, ideally we need minimum 45 minutes to set up and sound check, and another 30 minutes to get changed and gig ready :-)

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes - we have radio mics so we can sing and dance in the audience if that is suitable for the event, and our Singing Usherette option offers this as part of the performance. When we sing a cappella, we can be totally free to roam.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We will work with you to make sure you have the songs you like from our repertoire, and to avoid any you don't. If you choose one of our themed shows, we will tailor our set accordingly and we are always happy to chat through to make sure we find what works best for you and your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

PA and stage lighting is included in your quote. Please note our PA is suitable for events of up to 100 people. If your event is very large or outdoors and you need the sound to travel far, we usually ask that front of house is provided.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We are very happy to learn a special request song if it is not already on our extensive song list, we require four weeks notice in advance and it is subject to us being able to obtain a decent backing track.
