The Bluejays - The UK’s finest 1950s vintage Rock ‘n’ Roll band for any type of event - Private Parties, Weddings, Corporate Functions.

The group formed in 2013, after years of performing together in West End rock ‘n’ roll theatre shows such as ‘Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story’, ‘Million Dollar Quartet' and ‘Dreamboats & Petticoats’. The band created the show 'Rock and Roll Revolution' which is touring UK theatres throughout 2018. The Bluejays have played all over the world, from New York to Sydney. They recently played at the unveiling of Buddy Holly's blue plaque and in 2017 played for Buddy's family in Lubbock, Texas. The Bluejays are the UK's number one choice for vintage events, parties or weddings.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The authentic sound, excellent musicianship and energy we bring to every performance. The dance floor is always full at a Bluejays gig!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Bush Hall, O2 London, Battersea Power Station, shows in France, Italy, USA and Russia.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Elvis, The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Dusty Springfield, The Rolling Stones, Buddy Holly.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We were invited by the family of Buddy Holly to perform at his Birthday Celebrations. Buddy's widow Maria Elena and guitar legend Duane Eddy were in the audience. Another standout was a high-profile wedding at the Natural History Museum where we were joined onstage by Brian May who played guitar for us on Johnny B Goode.

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, we offer a 4-piece, 5-piece, 6-piece and even 8-piece lineup depending on the size of your event.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We can be as flexible as you need in terms of start and finish times.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we can provide playlists before, inbetween and after our sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

Depending on load-in access and space usually about an hour and a half to setup and soundcheck.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, we will send you our repertoire and you can pick or suggest any 50s or 60s songs that you'd love to hear!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, our PA, stage lighting and engineer costs are included in the quote.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, we love learning songs for a first dance or special requests.
