The Blackheath String Quartet is one of the most sought-after quartets in London and the home counties. The players met and founded the quartet at Trinity College of Music in London, and have remained close friends and colleagues since. In addition to their quartet commitments, freelance with a variety of England’s best-known professional orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English National Opera, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Chineke! We've played as a quartet at some of the most prestigious venues in London, and beyond, including The Ivy, The Chelsea Flower Show, and at Castello Orsini-Odescalchi on the southern shore of Lake Bracciano for a secret celebrity wedding, where Eric Clapton and the Black Eyed Peas also performed. As well as performing, members of the quartet are also composers and arrangers of reputable note, and take pride in many of our unique arrangements. Last year they performed a concert of music composed by their cellist to much acclaim. Whether you enjoy classical music, pop, jazz, folk, or Christmas music, the Blackheath String Quartet will provide a bespoke and personable service, and their professionalism will mean you have one less thing to worry about leading up to your special event!

“We were absolutely thrilled with the performance by Blackheath String Quartet at our wedding. Set outside in gardens, they tailored their music perfectly to the bucolic surroundings, performing classical Impressionist pieces alongside joyful interpretations of contemporary songs - giving the experience a very personal and timeless feel. They helped create the perfect atmosphere for our wedding party, capturing the beauty and emotion of the setting and enhancing the magic of the day. Our guests, which ranged from classical devotees to the occasional listener, thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Interactions with Tristan and the quartet were effortless and fostered a highly creative and tailored response to the occasion. We would highly recommend them!” Jason Holley, Principal, Universal Design Studio

We wanted to say how wonderful your playing was at the champagne reception. It was exactly what we were looking for and provided the perfect atmosphere - elegant, yet informal - for the start of our celebrations. Thank you so much for performing. We had so many complimentary comments about the Blackheath String Quartet and I hope you enjoyed your visit to East Sussex.
