Thackeray String Quartet/Trio

Based in the North West, Thackeray String Quartet (Trio) are highly experienced musicians providing quality music and a bespoke service. They also play as a string trio - which is an increasingly popular option and great for smaller rooms and budgets. In addition to quartet work, they have worked as freelance players with the region's top orchestras such as Halle, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Opera North and Northern Chamber Orchestra. They have played in West End shows, touring throughout the UK and around the world, in addition to playing as backing musicians in bands for artistes such as Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Hayley Westenra, Texas and for the Strictly Come Dancing Tour. They have also worked in Abbey Road studios for film sessions and recorded backing for a variety of bands such as Texas and Marc Almond. This verstile quartet has a huge variety of music ranging from Classics such as Pachelbel’s Canon to Film/TV favorites such as Netflix series Bridgerton and Games of Thrones and an ever growing selection of Popular songs including: One Day Like This (Elbow), You're Beautiful (James Blunt), Songbird (Eva Cassidy), A Million Love Songs (Take That). The list is always increasing and the quartet is happy to perform music of your choice. They are happy to source a song for your special occasion! Venues include: Mottram Hall, Arley Hall, Bolton School, Eaves Hall, Stockport Town Hall, Bramall Hall, Manchester Town Hall, Midland Hotel, Hoghton Tower and many more. The string quartet can be hired to perform inside a venue or – weather permitting – outside in the gardens.
