Tara Austin, Mezzo Soprano, is a graduate student at Royal College of Music, studying with Sally Burgess and John Blakely. Recent roles include: Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte with Seastar Opera (July 2014), and Flora in La Traviata with Euphonia Opera (September 2014). Previous roles include: Hansel in Utah/Idaho Performing Art Company’s production of Hansel and Gretel, Paulina in Queen of Spades and Gypsy Woman in Rachmaninoff’s Aleko with The Russian Opera Workshop, and Miss Newkirk in Menotti’s Help, help the Globolinks! and Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte with Brigham Young University. Opera scenes include Annio in La Clemenza di Tito, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, and Peep-Bo in The Mikado at The Royal College of Music. She has been a Young Artist with the CoOPERAtive Program, Russian Opera Workshop, OperaWorks, Ohio Light Opera, and participated in workshops with Academy of French Song and Opera (August 2014). She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Bachelor of Arts in German from Brigham Young University.
