Chris and the Tallis Consort were absolutely amazing. I feel so lucky to have found them! From start to finish Chris was just fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. Last week I played the Organ at a Funeral and was privileged to be joined in the Musical work by the Tallis Consort under the Direction of Christopher Why. The Consort - an SATB quartet, not only led the hymn singing but performed Walford Davies's beautifully simple setting of the words from the Sarum Primer "God be in my head" - here was a model performance of this short work. The singing was musically controlled, with impeccable diction, tuning balance and ensemble. I hope to work with them again, and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

The vocal group created a beautiful, sound, which filled the large church with heavenly music. Several people in the congregation thought it was a recording, such was the clarity and beauty of the vocals we heard.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The intimacy of our ensemble is one of our strengths. We are all soloists in our own right but come together with our individual voices to form a robust, yet flexible sound as an ensemble which allows us to cater our sound to any venue or occasion. We are incredibly passionate about music and know how much it can uplift and enhance any special occasion.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

As our singers are handpicked professionals from around the country, we have performed for many prestigious people and events in famous buildings. A few include The Royal Albert Hall, Westminster Abbey, Lincoln Cathedral, singing live for the BBC on TV and Radio, performed with other professionals such as Aled Jones, and sung for King Charles III.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We each have our musical idols, and we are able to craft our own unique sound through our own inspiration rather than wanting to sound like another ensemble. We mix younger, emerging professional voices with more mature, experienced voices to create a blend with bite and a shared ethos of loving music and sharing it with people.

Do you have different line-up options?

We can provide a mixture of singers tailored to your individual event. However, we typically perform as a quartet (four voices). Also, if you'd like us to sing with accompaniment (for a church service, for example), we can work with an accompanist linked to the church, or provide our own for an additional fee.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Not a problem, we can alter this as required to suit you. Just keep us in the loop!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

This isn't typically a service we provide, but please don't hesitate to contact us!

How much time do you need to set up?

This can vary on the day but we usually need on average around 30 minutes. We will be on hand on the day and before your guests arrive. We will also be on hand to rehearse with any accompaniment (organist or string quartet) on the day, but we will organise this on your behalf so your day can run faultlessly.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Typically, the choir perform from a fixed position. However, we are very comfortable in processing whilst we perform. You may wish for us to sing and process (walk) at the beginning of your service. We are also happy to perform from various positions at your event.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists give you a brief glance at our expansive repertoire. The choir is a handpicked selection of the finest professional singers. Therefore, if you would like something not on our set list, the chances are that we either know it, or can learn it!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Our set lists give you an idea of our usual music. Once booked, you will receive a consultation to discuss your musical preferences and vision. You can then inform us of any specific requests or special pieces you may want!
