What do your clients love most about your performances?
Customers love the high energy songs that we perform. All of the songs are well known 80s bangers that people can sing and dance along to. Our integrated lighting makes for a fantastic all-round performance, rather than just another gig. We are very different from your typical pub covers band!
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
Numerous pubs and clubs, mostly in the midlands but some further afield as well. We've played all sorts of events- weddings, birthday parties, and we play lots of festivals each year.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
We love the 80's. All 3 of us grew up during the 80's and so that's why we love what we do. So it's fair to say we are influenced by the likes of Depeche Mode, The Human League, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure and loads of other 80's electronic music icons and pioneers
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
In 2019 we played at the Hook Norton Music At The Crossroads Festival, where we were the main support for Dr Feelgood.
Do you have different line-up options?
Unfortunately we do not - Synthmachine is a 3-piece band. What we do would not work with any other line-up options
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £125
How much time do you need to set up?
We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!
Can you roam around while you perform?
No, unfortunately, the nature of the instruments we play (mostly keyboards) does not allow us to roam around while we are playing.
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.
Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?
Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. Also included is a smoke machine to enhance the lighting. However, some venues are not able to accomodate this, so this may not always be possible. We usually require a minimum of 8m by 4m space to perform
Can you learn song requests before the event?
If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you, providing we are given enough notice to be able to learn and rehearse the song. Also, we reserve the right to refuse if the song either doesn't fall within the 80's genre or is of a style that does not really suit the instruments we use
