Susannah Groome is a Lyric Soprano. She has great deal of experiencing of singing at Weddings and Funerals and solos with Choral Societies.

Susannah Groome is a Lyric Soprano specialising in Choral Music, Early Music, Oratorio and English Song. She has made many solo appearances in Cathedrals across the UK, many Central London Churches, Houses of Parliament and 10 Downing Street and on both BBC radio and television and more recently on an American television music documentary demonstrating the acoustics of Salisbury Cathedral. Susannah sings professionally in the choir of St Matthew's Westminster, where she has been part of a small chamber ensemble in BBC broadcasts, podcasts and concerts. Susannah sings soprano Oratorio solos regularly with Choral Societies and Chamber Choirs across the Country. Recent soprano solos include Haydn Nelson Mass in St John's Smith Square, London; Pergolesi's Stabat Mater with string quartet in St Matthew's Westminster and Mozart Requiem with Dartford Choral Society. Susannah graduated with a First Class Degree from the London College of Music where she also won several College prizes. Susannah currently studies singing with Sarah Pring.

She has a confident vocal technique, equally at home blending with (and leading) choral forces and with solo work. She is an accomplished and seasoned singer with the ability to adapt to many different genres and periods of vocal repertoire with ease and aplomb.

Susannah's singing in our recent orchestral concert featuring Schubert's Mass in G was sublime. There is a particular colour and character to her voice that commanded the attention of the audience and gave new life to this stalwart of the repertoire. Her range and projection are impressive. as is the conviction of her communication.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure concerts and events run as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Not applicable to my services.

How much time do you need to set up?

This depends on the event. I may need to rehearse with a pianist or organist before the event.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes, but i am always very happy to learn new music. Not all of my repertoire is listed in my repertoire list.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I will bring the music. An organist or pianist may need to be booked or I can organise for one to be there at an extra cost. I have backing tracks which may be used on occasions, but live accompaniment is always best.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a piece of music is included in my song list, with notice, I am happy to learn specific pieces in advance. I may need to charge to buy the music if I do not already have it.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My commitment and dedication to the event that I am singing in. Purity of voice. Versatile singer - able to perform in a range of styles. Confident vocal technique. Excellent performer and communicator when performing. Good sight reading ability and a very fast learner of music.
