Hi, I'm Susy K and I've been a professional singer for over 14 years, working between London and her hometown of Edinburgh. I specialise in soul-based music (including soul, jazz, Motown, r&b, funk and dance) and am an adaptable vocalist who is just as comfortable singing solo at an intimate event as she is tearing up the dancefloor with powerhouse diva vocals! I'm currently available for private functions, live PA appearances and session work, so give me a shout! I have extensive experience in: • Live performance - performances from local venues (including Leith Arches, The Voodoo Rooms and Dalhousie Castle) to bigger venues such as Shepherd's Bush Empire., Live PA’s for club nights such as Rendition, The Church of High Kicks and Jak's Chelsea - Performed as a backing vocalist for various artists including Annabel Williams, Bambus Strut and Miss Larri Gardet. • Studio Recording - Both studios based and virtual - Recording lead vocals and backing vocals – specialises in creating and multi-tracking harmonies within the session. - Extensive collaborative work with DJs, producers and other artists - Recorded with live bands for her own original work • Songwriting - Writes original material, and frequently collaborate with fellow musicians. - "Tell Me", from her debut album “Farfalla” was shortlisted as one of 10 finalists in the Urban/Hip Hop category for the UK Songwriting Contest.

Me and my partner hired Susy to sing at our joint birthday/anniversary party in October. She was brilliant - a lovely, warm person with a professional attitude. She was more than happy interacting with the crowd on and off stage, and her voice was fantastic! What do your clients love most about your performances?

The feedback I've had from clients and audiences is that alongside my excellent vocals, they really enjoy my friendly, approachable attitude, my interaction with the audience (when appropriate) and my song choices.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Over the last 12 years of being a professional vocalist I have performed in a number of venues in UK including Shepherd's Bush Empire, The Spice of Life and Jak's (London), The Voodoo Rooms, Dalhousie Castle and CC Blooms (Edinburgh) to name a few. This has included a variety of events from private events to weddings to regular appearances.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

The most soulful artists out there! From classic soul/jazz legends such as Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and Chaka Khan to contemporary greats such as Jill Scott, Brandy, D'Angelo and Lalah Hathaway.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

So far, it was performing a Destiny's Child/Beyonce medley as part of a group at Shepherd's Bush Empire.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I am happy to be flexible if the timings change slightly - I want your event to go as smoothly as possible, so if I can help make that happen I certainly will.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Certainly. I can play playlists through my PA system, and will do so for free, just ensure you let me know before the event so I can prepare these for you.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually need 45 minutes-1 hour to set up. Once my PA system is set up, I will play appropriate music to set the tone if requested.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I have worked at events for many years and have a good understanding of what works well and ensures guests have an amazing time. However, I am happy to chat about any specific requests to make sure we find what works best for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Absolutely. I bring my own PA system with all necessary equipment including high quality backing tracks. If an acoustic set with singing and keyboard is requested, I will also provide my own keyboard.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If there is a song not included in my song list there might be a possibility I already know it. If you do have 1 specific song you would like me to learn I would be happy to do this - there will be a £40 additional fee for this service to cover additional rehearsal/preparation time. For more than 1 specific song request, please refer to my add-ons section.
