Verified profile

Stuart is 42 and has played the guitar, piano, and sang for many years. He has a real passion and love for acoustic music so much so that he has never owned and does not have any interest in playing electric guitar. Stuart loves to put his own acoustic spin on songs and does not play with backing tracks. He plays both guitar and piano to accompany his wide ranging voice and has a reputation for being a bit of a human jukebox with over 700 songs in his set list. Stuart can adapt his style from playing chilled out piano ballads by the likes of Elton John, Billy Joel, John Legend to a more upbeat Indie, Rock, Pop and Country on guitar. His influences are also pretty varied including Stereophonics, Oasis, Johnny Cash, Paolo Nutini, The Beatles, James Taylor. Stuarts personality allows him to adapt his set accordingly, he plays regularly in bustling bars and likes to get a crowd going but he’s also very much at home providing some quiet acoustic background sets for restaurants and functions. Stuart has played all over the UK including St James Palace in London and also successfully sold out 4 shows at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival in 2018 and 2019.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I am an sociable person and like to engage with my audience. I rarely come with a fixed set list and tend to try and play what the audience or client requests.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Far too many to choose from but I have played in homes for 5 people and I have also played in St James Palace to 500 people. I have played lots of weddings and pub venues over many years

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Oasis and Paolo Nutini

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I had 4 sold out shows at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018 and 2019.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

As long as I am free there will be no issue changing this. On most occasions I only accept one booking per day so in most cases changing the time won't be an issue

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I'm afraid not

How much time do you need to set up?

Approximately 30 minutes to set up.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

I can take particular requests and always ask for an idea of genres the audience will like. I have over 800 songs in my set so I cover most genres and many popular requests.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes. I have a quality Bose PA system.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes Im happy to discuss particular requests.

Stuart is brilliant. He has a great voice and the ability to perform a fantastic range of music to suit all tastes. I’ve used him twice now for corporate events, and on both occasions we have just not wanted him to stop playing, we could have listened to him all night – lucky for us he had no hesitation in giving us an encore or two! I would highly recommend Stuart, his performances have always been faultless. He is very professional, liaised direct with the venue and kept me updated, so I knew I could relax and let him get on with the job. I would highly recommend Stuart and I look forward to him performing for us again at some stage.
