Stuart Gray

Stuart began playing trombone at school in Gateshead, playing in local brass bands and the orchestra pit for local shows. He was a member of Northern Junior Philharmonic from 1988, later working as a member of house staff. He studied trombone with Chris Houlding (principal trombone Opera North) and has been active in many genres throughout the North of England. He runs a brass quintet, Prince Bishops Brass and freelances with Royal Northern Sinfonia, Opera North and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. As a conductor of brass bands he is we'll know in the North East, conducting many bands from 4th to Championship sections. Stuart is Head of Instrumental Music at a large school in Stockton.
