A lively folk / covers / ceilidh band with instrumental tunes from across the British Isles and a back catalogue of hits to keep the dancefloor going! We perform a range of music (both songs and tunes) from a broad repertoire and era from traditional folk to modern classics. We offer a selection of different services, from ceremonial and reception music to acoustic sets and full blown rock-tinged raggedness! Formed from a variety of different musical backgrounds, our aim is to provide the most engaging and enjoyable entertainment, bringing the very best of our many years of musical experience to give you an unforgettable night of song, dance and laughter! Our caller jumps right in to the action and delivers instructions amongst the guests - no prior experience needed! We can cater for specific and traditional Irish or Scottish Ceilidhs, although for most Barn Dance / Ceilidhs we keep broad, unless specified. Available for performing weddings, concerts, barn dances, ceilidhs, corporate events and everything in between, in the venue of your choice, be it a stately home or your back garden! We ensure that we approach every booking with the unique touch that it deserves, with consistent contact and tapering to fit the ideal vision for the event. With over 10 years as a band, and 100s of events under out belt, we will bring the very best every time, creating memories for years to come!

Thank you so much for an absolutely great evening..we couldn't have wished for a better band. The music was great and everyone was on their feet. The dances were great fun, and we have had nothing but praise from our family and friends. It was all over far too quickly, but it was a special and memorable occasion. Highly recommended.

What an amazing time we had dancing to the Stomping Boondocks. They guys were great from start to finish and made sure the party will be one everyone remembers. Communication from start to finish was excellent and I highly recommend these guys should you want to get your guests up on the floor.

Stomping Boondocks are a talented band who provide great entertainment at an affordable price! All correspondence was well responded to, with the band taking time and effort in carrying out our requests far better than expected. Everyone had an amazing evening with a fantastic mix of Ceilidh and DJ music played - I can't remember a time where someone wasn't up on the dance floor! :D I really couldn't recommend a better band to book for your special day. What do your clients love most about your performances?

We aren't your normal ceilidh band, we bring a modern vibe and energy to our performances. We also ensure everyone has a bit of fun!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed across the entirety of the UK, in pubs, bars, festivals, churches, castles and everything else you can thing of. We have also ventured to France, Italy and Eastern Europe.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We have performed at folk festivals across the country, a number of St Patrick's Day events for Guinness, an Awards Ceremony for the National Trust and many other events.

Can you perform covers?

Yes we normally intersperse our ceilidh performances with covers of classic songs and tunes. This gives everyone the opportunity to have a rest between dancing! Full cover sets also available, mixing well-known folk, pop, country and indie classics

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up generally consists of five people. This involves our caller/vocalist, guitarist, fiddler, bassist and drummer. Other options available on request - get in touch and we will see what we can do!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We're 100% flexible and know how even the best laid plans can come unstuck. As such we're happy to work with you in order to ensure everything runs exactly as you'd like!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. Our bassist and guitarist offer a professional DJ service, with full PA, following the live music until the end of your evening. This does come at an additional cost and can be discussed when booking.

How much time do you need to set up?

Our set up is normally an hour, this allows us to set up all instruments and ensure the stage is as neat and tidy as possible. As with anything, the more time the better, but we can also work to shorter timescales if required.

Do you provide a caller?

Yes, our caller Karl is vastly experienced, having been in ceilidh bands since he was a teenager. He is perfect at ensuring everyone is included and can follow the dances, along with the odd joke in order to ensure everyone has a great time!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

By all means. We often amend our sets on the fly, depending on how each song / tune is received. However, if there are specifics you would like, simply let us know and we'll ensure they're included.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA) included in your quote?

All PA (fully PAT tested and covered by our Public Liability Insurance) is included, along with lighting.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Given enough time, and as long as we are confident we can do it justice, we are happy to do this. We will keep you in the loop with videos, mp3s etc, to ensure you're happy with the progress.
