I booked Stewart thinking he only played the sax. (Which he will if you want him to) but the guy just lit up the party. He was playing on the patio. While he was on his break one of the guests started to sing Baker Street. Stewart shook his head and said, (Move over Bro) that ain’t how it goes. We soon found out how it went and so did the neighbours who then gatecrashed us. Sax to die for but his flute is stunning. Laid back or what. He plays piano as well but have not heard that.

I am American. To this day I don’t know how Stewart knew that at the time. He was hired to play to people at the door as they came into the party. He must have found out somehow that I was from the States because he came dressed looking like a gangsta from the 20s. Black and white Chicago Brogue shoes, black shirt and white tie, with a Fedora hat and shades. Quite literally Al Capone with a black sax. To be honest I wouldn’t have cared if he hadn’t played any music, he looked like the ultimate doorman dressed to kill. The saxophone drifted through the rooms perfectly. He played The Power of Love for me. Ouch. I so much wish he’d played at my wedding, but that was in St Lucia. Would I recommend him? A resounding Yes.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Just give me as much notice as you can and I'll try my best to make sure your day goes as you want it to. Things don't always run as planned and I understand that.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Of course, not a problem. No charge for that. Just enjoy your day.

How much time do you need to set up?

If the loading and unloading is close to the playing area I like to have at least an Hour. Longer if it's further away.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Go for it. I'm there for you.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I need a suitable size area to perform in, a power socket and a small table. I have everything else.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If it is a song that a man can sing or play then I'm glad to help if I can. But I need a month's notice to learn a new song. There is a £30 charge for it as it takes a lot of rehearsing.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My Concern for detail. I'm a stickler for communication. Anything a customer can let me know always helps the event run better, and that is all I want.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Too many to list. Lakeside Country Club is a large venue where they have the darts tournaments on TV. I played there as support for The Shadows. I've played many many lovely Hotels and functions. Quite simply too many to list.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I don't follow trends.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Earls Court London with The Queen in attendance. but that was a military gig.
