I've been playlisted by BBC Radio 2 & BBC6 Music and performed at prestigious festivals such as Latitude, Cornbury, Kendal Calling and SXSW in Austin, Texas. I've also recorded in Nashville many times. I've performed at countless weddings, private parties and corporate events in the UK and overseas. WOW!!!!! Words cannot express how fantastic Stephen was and what a buzz he brought to our wedding day! We hired Stephen to play during our wedding ceremony and our drinks reception, we mentioned to him that we wanted our drinks reception to be relaxed and fun, he certainly did not disappoint. The whole place was jumping…. And singing. We had so many comments on how amazing he was and what a lovely voice and amazing talent he has. Stephen did an amazing job surprising my girlfriend during the day when I proposed to her. I had the idea of a singer joining us in a cable car across the Thames in London, and then serenading us as we crossed, and he turned it into reality perfectly. Not only was his singing and guitar playing brilliant, with exactly the right energy for the occasion, his acting to get into the cable car without making my girlfriend suspicious and his spontaneous adaptation/mixing of songs to match the moment was really impressive. And he was so easy to communicate with about the idea and very friendly and professional, making something that was logistically challenging stress-free for me. It was a real highlight of our day!

I am so glad I booked Stephen Michaels to sing for my mum on her birthday. He was so friendly and professional to deal with and his voice was superb. After hours (and I mean hours) of searching for a performer/artist for our wedding, I found Stephen. Immediately, his acoustic style and energy enticed me. After several email exchanges (because for me, it's important someone wants the job), it was clear Stephen was the individual for our wedding. The brief I gave Stephen (via a Zoom call) was that I wanted someone who could give energy to its audience and keep people dancing. It's worth noting, we were a small wedding of 20 people; however, the venue itself was equally intimate. Ok, let me get to the point, Stephen is epic! End of, no debate! A hugely personable individual, who's desire is to satisfy and entertain his clients and audience. Everyone, and I mean everyone, raved about his performance as we danced during his entire set. When we first saw Stephen we knew straight away he was perfect for what we wanted! He sung beautifully at our church ceremony and then throughout our whole wedding breakfast and had the whole crowd singing along and chanting. He made the wedding breakfast so much fun and had the crowd ready for the evening to party! We would highly recommend and we are so thankful we came across him 😃

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I have a unique and soulful voice that stands out and I'm really great with audiences. I can either captivate them in an intimate setting (such as a wedding ceremony) or I can get them dancing and having fun. I'm a people person and it comes out in my performance! This is what so many of my clients have booked me for and I've never let anyone down.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've toured the UK in theatres as a solo artist as well as in America. I've played UK festivals such as Kendal Calling, Latitude and Cornbury Festival and also SXSW in Austin, Texas. I've played in every kind of imaginable size of venue and my experience is vast.

Paul Nutini , Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Coldplay, Oasis, Damien Rice, Bruno Mars, Bill Withers, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Chester Rocks festival in front of 10,000 people.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible and if your timings change just let me know and I'm sure we can work it out! :)

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can provide an appropriate playlist of background music to be played in between my sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes, you can choose songs from the Songlist section in my profile. Once we've confirmed a booking, you can send me your list of what you'd like me to include from that list.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes. I bring all my own fully PAT Tested equipment.
