Freelance violinist and teacher
Stephanie is a freelance violinist and peripatetic music tutor, teaching in schools and music centres across Liverpool. Stephanie graduated with a First Class degree from the University of Liverpool, where she specialised in performance (solo and chamber music). There, she performed with Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Liverpool University Symphony Orchestra, Liverpool University Chamber Orchestra, Glas Quartet. She has performed for weddings/events/conferences, in pit bands, and has toured Germany, France, and Poland. Stephanie is organised, reliable, and enthusiastic about what she does. She is always open to new and interesting experiences. For a year, Stephanie worked as Orchestra Assistant with Aurora Orchestra, giving her experience in the office, concerts, workshops and events. Stephanie's enthusiasm for music developed during her education, leading her to understand the importance of providing this to others. For two years, she volunteered with Liverpool Philharmonic’s ‘In Harmony Liverpool’ project, which is inspired by the el-sistema movement. Whilst a member of the Liverpool University Chamber Orchestra, she played a crucial part in the touring of schools in North-West England, with the overall aim to inspire young people to get involved with music. Growing up with a younger brother who has severe learning difficulties gave her first hand experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs. Stephanie has taught violin and music theory privately for three years, and prides herself in providing high quality, engaging and well-planned tuition. She is patient, friendly, and has an evident enthusiasm for teaching. She accommodates for her pupil's needs with ease, whether it be to work towards an examination, or to play for enjoyment.
