New Orleans / dixieland band
Stamford
Tuneful Dixieland Jazz for your function. Proper melodies from the 1920s and 30s. We are popular with all ages even young children.

The band is made up of four very experienced musicians and normally comprises trumpet, string bass, clarinet and banjo/guitar. If required we can add a young lady singer. Our banjo player can play guitar and our clarinet player can play tenor saxophone. We provide music for pubs, clubs, parties, corporate events and weddings - and for outside events such as barbecues and bandstands in public parks. (We have even played at funerals). We play tuneful, foot tapping melodies and we are not too loud - conversation is still possible! You can dance to our music and we are popular with all ages (even very young children!). We are based in the Stamford area UK and we will travel around 60 miles.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We can usually add a young lady singer. We will send you a video if you are interested.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We are very flexible - we have to be for weddings!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

No - we don't do this - sorry.

How much time do you need to set up?

We normally arrive about 45 to 60 minutes before the start to provide a buffer in case of problems on the journey to the event. We can set up in about 20 minutes.

Can you roam around while you perform?

We can a very small amount. We have done this when playing at funerals but normally we are static.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes - no problem.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

PA yes but not lighting. We can play in the dark!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes - we can read music in addition to playing by ear - so we can normally oblige.

Reviews

From customers:

Richard.

The Stamford Stompers performed at DB Cargo UK's annual family fun day and were excellent - a really jolly band that really lifted the spirits of all those attending! Thank you!

We wanted to send you an enormous and heartfelt THANK YOU for playing so wonderfully at our wedding (at Exton Hall). We absolutely loved being serenaded by your swinging set. You created the perfect atmosphere and so many of our guests commented on what fun it was to sip their champagne to your toe-tapping tunes. ... one particularly vivid memory Will and I share is walking down the bank of the gardens towards the house, watching all our guests chatting in the sunshine and with your joyful music being carried over the breeze. It was just an idyllic scene and such an unexpected pleasure to see from afar. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to what was the very best day of our lives.
