Southland

Southland is a four-piece country rock band bringing the sound and energy of Nashville to weddings, private parties and corporate events across the South of England. We play country and country rock because we genuinely love the music — not because it happens to suit a theme. Our set brings together well-known country favourites, modern country and rockier tracks, all chosen with one thing in mind: how they work in the room. We don’t simply work through the same setlist at every event. We pay attention to the audience and adapt as the evening develops. If people are responding to the rockier side of the set, we can lean into it. If the atmosphere calls for something different, we change direction. In short, we read the room. Southland is made up of four regular musicians, which gives us a tight, consistent sound and keeps the whole operation straightforward for clients and venues. We also provide our own PA system for suitable events, giving us greater control over the quality of the live sound. Before the event, we’ll discuss the important details with you, including timings, musical preferences, favourite songs and anything you would prefer us not to play. Where suitable, we can also prepare a first dance or another special musical moment. Our approach is simple: arrive prepared, sound good, work professionally with the venue and give you one less thing to manage on the day. We’re not really a background-music band, and we’re probably not the right choice if you simply want something quiet in the corner. But if you want proper live country music, a strong band on stage and a performance that your guests will remember, that’s what Southland is built for.
