South Coast Soul Revue played our first gig at The Pelham Arms for Lewes FC's end of season party on May 23rd, 2008. Since then we have developed into one of the finest soul & funk bands in the South East. We play throughout the South East at prestigious venues such as: Brighton Open Air Theatre; Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham-by-Sea; The Brunswick in Hove; Spring Arts & Heritage Centre in Havant; Cranleigh Arts; Komedia Brighton; and Lewes Constitution Club. We have also performed at parties for Legal & General in 2018 and 2019, Brighton & Hove Council, Chestnut Tree House Charity, and many other businesses and charities. We love playing weddings and private parties and helping to make them memorable for all involved. We are a genuine group, all of us are permanent members of South Coast Soul Revue: a collection of professional and semi-professional musicians, who have come together through our love of soul & funk music. Because we play in venues, to paying audiences, we bring an authentic soul revue experience into our wedding and corporate gigs. Come along to one of our gigs and experience the magic that an eight-piece soul band can generate. Dancing at our gigs is optional - but highly recommended!

A truly wonderful band. We've been delighted to host them at BOAT for the past couple of years and they've put on a fabulous show both times - a real highlight of our season. Audience response has been sensational. Highly recommend buying a ticket to see them or booking them for your venue/event.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our hi-energy performances. Dancing to the great songs we play. Our authenticity - the fact that we are a working band, not just a collection of musicians who have come together for function gig. Our authenticity - we are a venue band who play functions, not just a function band. We engage with our audience.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We played at Brighton Grand for Declan Lowney's wedding. Declan is the producer of the brilliant, timeless Father Ted series and director of the Steve Coogan film, Alpha Papa. Celebrity guests included Paul Whitehouse and Ardal O'Hanlon. Before we played they read out an email from Beyoncé congratulating the couple and a video of Bono rapping his greetings.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes in nearly every booking. If for any reason, illness for example, we need to bring in our very experienced and excellent dep, we will inform you in advance.

Do you have different line-up options?

No we like to go out as an 8-piece to give the audience our full soul revue experience. We have two lead vocalists, saxophone, trumpet, guitars, bass and drums.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We are very flexible. Just contact us with the new timings. If it means that the band has to arrive earlier than agreed, then there may be an additional cost.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes we can. Your iPod can be played through our PA system. Or we can provide a playlist if you let us know in advance. We can also provide a DJ if you let us know, at an additional cost.

How much time do you need to set up?

Ideally our sound engineer will need access to the venue at least 3 hours before you or your guests arrive. The band will arrive once the PA is set up. Please allow an hour for the band's set up and sound-check. This can often be done whilst the venue is moving chairs/tables and preparing the room for a party.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

By all means let us know your favourites from our song list and we will devise set lists from them that keep your guests on the dance floor.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes. We bring a sound engineer and pro-level PA and stage lights.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

For weddings we can learn your first dance song. If you have other requests, just let us know, and if we feel they can fit into future set lists and have rehearsals planned, we can learn them.
