Soul75 is led by Richard Staines, a professional bass player who has played hundreds of gigs after becoming established on the UK live music scene. Highlights of Richard's musical career include entertaining the troops at a top secret military base, and playing in the legendary Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London. The band was formed in 2022 after an experienced group of musicians came together to celebrate classic soul music. Our singers are top session performers who have worked with artists including Stevie Wonder, will.i.am, Burna Boy, and Peter Gabriel.

I originally were looking at another band as my present for my dad's 80th but as soon as I saw Soul75's YouTube videos I knew they would make the event, and boy was I right!! It was a big celebration at 150 people and we are still getting comments about it, mainly about the band. Soul75 have a fantastic set list to choose from and me and my parents chose almost every song they suggested. We wanted quite a bit of reggae as my dad is Jamaican so they really can do it all. Their set was tight, and you could tell they all worked hard to ensure it stayed that way. From the drummer, to bass, to guitar and the incredible vocalist, everything was spot on. Our guests felt like they were at a gig 😂 people were dancing and singing along. They even accommodated me singing a song for my dad. Simply put, if you are hesitating between bands, you will not be disappointed. Booking through Encore was super simple and Richard stayed in good contact up to the night of our event. Thank you so much guys, you really are a special band and my dad LOVED it.

Soul75 came to my 60th and were knock out - great band. Richard was extremely helpful fitting into the party's theme sharing his songlist prior, vocals & acoustics were excellent - and I have not heard anything but praise from all those who attended - even got some people up dancing who are normally in the "sit down crowd". Book'em, they're great.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We create a great vibe and have amazing singers. We can also do tributes to your favourite Soul acts.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Our performers are all professionals who have been thoroughly auditioned. Our singers have performed with top acts including Faithless, George Clinton, Lee 'Scratch' Perry and Billy Ocean.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We are influenced by the soul and funk sounds of the 60s 70s and 80s.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Our performers have played at music festivals and venues such as the legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London.

Do you have different line-up options?

Basic line-up: 4 piece band - singer, guitar, bass, drums 7 piece: add keyboards and 2 more singers 10 piece: add sax, trombone and trumpet Vocal only line-up: 1 male singer, 2 female singers, plus backing tracks.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

“We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.”

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Sure! We also have a kicking party playlist until midnight. This comes included with all bookings if required.

How much time do you need to set up?

“We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!”

Can you roam around while you perform?

If required we will give singers long leads so that they can perform on the dance floor. If you would like a separate roaming acoustic duo to serenade your guests, this can be hired for an extra fee.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

All quotes include PA and lights. For larger gigs we will include hire of a sound engineer in the price.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
