Soul Train are a dynamic, energetic 8-piece band made up of seasoned musicians with a wealth of experience delivering enthusiastic performances of Soul and Motown classic hits popular to the Stax labels of the ’60s and ’70s. The band regularly pays homage to legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, James Brown, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave and many more, transporting audiences back in time. Soul Train was originally known as the popular ’90s band Soul Fish, which successfully performed at popular venues throughout the UK. Due to popular demand, three former members of Soul Fish reformed the band under the new name of Soul Train. The Soul Train band features two powerful vocalists, one male and one female, who together deliver an energetic, flamboyant performance with outstanding vocals and stage presence. The former trio members sourced the finest seasoned musicians to compile an exceptional lineup that features Drums, Bass, Guitar, Trumpet, Tenor, Alto and Baritone Sax, together creating a phenomenal sound. This Yorkshire-based band are fast becoming one of the most sought-after authentic Soul Acts in the UK, delivering an outstanding performance that continues to impress audiences with their fantastic renditions of timeless classics.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Every gig is high profile to us!

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-audititioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

We mainly perform as a 8-piece, but we can expand our lineup for higher events and we rarely perform as a 7-piece for smaller events. Please send us a message with more details if you're interested.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 2 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 4m by 4m space to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you.
