About Soul Allegiance

Expect top-notch performances Soul Allegiance's super-tight musicians, with RnB vocals that regularly grace the West End!
Soul & Motown band
Harlow
Public liability insurance of £5 million

Soul Allegiance is a firm family favourite - their repertoire is vast, so there really is something for everyone. Soul Allegiance is regularly booked for weddings and joint birthday parties where both the young and the young at heart can completely indulge in both the classics that everyone loves as well as the more current numbers that get the room jumping. Their speciality lies in Motown, soul, hip hop, RnB, pop and dance party anthems. Soul Allegiance comes as a 6-piece band, their standard lineup is two lead female vocals, guitar, bass, keys, and drums. They can downsize to a 5-piece, and upsize if you’d prefer. The number of positive reviews that this team gets is nearly countless. Every single show is a success with clients coming back raving about their “absolutely spectacular performance” and mentioning things like how they are “slick, polished, [and] insanely talented”. This band was actually our first middle-sized band that really took off in The Supreme Collective. It remains one of our most popular setups, quite possibly because it straddles the space between a small outfit and a big band meaning it’s got that wow factor, and at the same time isn’t going to overpower the room. With keys in the lineup, the band can recreate those horn sounds that you hear in so many of those fabulous soul and Motown songs. That being said, the band can add a live brass section should you wish to go down that route. Soul Allegiance is fronted by Kedesha and Emma-May. These fantastic vocalists' voices meld together in perfection and have an abundance of chemistry together. Kedesha has a particularly RnB tone to her voice in part thanks to all the original recordings she's done, and Emma-May’s beautiful soulful tones are reminiscent of legends like Aretha and Diana Ross. Kedesha and Emma-May’s vocal expertise and incredibly professional and sweet personalities coupled with the band’s outstanding musicianship will win you and all of your guests around from the first song. Kedesha, and Emma-May, who frequently flexes their vocal cords with a choir group that has gone on tour with Peter Andre, Beverly Knight, The Feeling, Josh Groban, and Jamie Cullum, and is supported by Chris on guitar, Ewan on bass, Pete on keys, and Josh on drums. Collectively they have all studied at some of the most prestigious musical educational facilities in the UK, including Brit School, the British Institute of Modern Music, and the British Academy of New Music; have played with the likes of Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, Elle Exxe, Gary ‘Mudbone’ Cooper (of Parliament Funkadelic), Nate James, Imelda May, David Stewart (Eurythmics), Hollie Stephenson, Lenny Henry, Stone Bramsen (Alphabeat), Barbara Moleko and Mollie King (of The Saturdays); have supported Robbie Williams, Rudimental, Omar, and Ronan Keating; have performed at Isle of White Festival, Newquay Beach Break Festival, The Full Ponty, GuilFest, Evolution Festival, SXSW Festival, and Notting Hill Carnival; toured the UK, Europe, and USA; have played at the renowned 100 Club, O2 Arena, O2 Islington, Jazz Café, and Versuz (one of Europe’s largest nightclubs); and have been played on Capital FM, Sunday Brunch and BBC Radio 2 as well. I think you’ll agree that they've more than earned their stripes. Kedesha and Emma-May lead the way in Soul Allegiance as they belt out the band's pop, RnB, and soul repertoire, from artists such as Beyonce, Aretha Franklin, and Bruno Mars. The band has a repertoire of over 400 songs covering the 1950s to the current top 40 including genres such as Motown, soul, hip hop, RnB, and pop, though their repertoire also covers funk, rock, retro pop, rock n roll, country, indie, jazz, disco, dance, gospel, swing, jazz, blues, Israeli, reggae as well as Christmas genres. Soul Allegiance welcomes you to tailor the setlist for your big day. For a standard 2x60 mins or 3x40mins performance you can select up to 15 songs from the band’s 400+ song repertoire, and the band will endeavour to accommodate all of your requests, given a month’s notice. For short notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. Soul Allegiance is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, for example, a first dance or your favourite song. Upon booking, you will have a dedicated band manager as your point of contact to ensure the band is 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. Having this point of contact means you can count on excellent, fast, friendly, and warm communication at all times. It also means that come the big day every single crease will be ironed out and it will mean smooth sailing for both client and band alike. All in all, Soul Allegiance’s band members are a very friendly and flexible bunch and take great pride in providing excellent musicianship and creating a really fun atmosphere wherever they go. The band has a big long list of songs spanning different genres and decades for you to pick from and can play complimentary playlist music (which you are welcome to tailor) before, in-between, and after live sets until curfew. The band can be on-site for up to 7 hours, or until midnight as standard. They are happy to accommodate early arrivals before 5pm and late stays after midnight if needed too. The band is also able to provide a band member DJ-ing should you wish to have a live DJ before, between, or after band sets. The band brings a full PA and lighting rig with them wherever they go, so all you need to do is book the band and you can tick the entertainment off your to-do list in one fell swoop because Soul Allegiance will have you covered. The band also offers the option to perform Israeli dancing sets - we have two vocalists within The Supreme Collective who are fantastic at singing Israeli songs, one of whom is one of our lead male vocalist-guitarists, Paolo, and the other is our fantastic lead female vocalist, Najwa. Similarly, our musicians are well-versed in the most fun and uptempo versions of the Israeli family favourites such as Hava Nagila, Hevenu Shalom Aleichem and so forth. The Israeli dancing can be booked as an Add On and we do also offer Israeli ceremony music too. If you've any questions about the band and what they offer please don't hesitate, we’ll be more than happy to help.

We want to thank Soul Dedication for an absolutely spectacular performance at our wedding. As soon as they started sound check in the afternoon there was an amazing atmosphere around the venue and the guests’ excitement started to build. The majority of the guests had not heard live music for two years so the dance-floor was packed from the first dance. We really appreciated that the band were willing to learn our first dance. Their rendition of 'New Shoes' was perfect - the rhythm of the drums and the bass combined with the incredible, soulful vocals made it one of the most memorable live music experiences of my life. Guests are still talking to us about the quality of the performance and the atmosphere it created that evening - and asking for contact details for their weddings. Whilst they were a significant expense - having seen the quality of the performance, it felt like good value. Thanks to everyone again!

Rhona and Soul Dedication were such a fantastic wedding band. The band brought such energy and enthusiasm throughout the evening getting involved with the crowd and guests as well as interacting with people throughout the night. This made the performance feel very intimate and 'live'! The repertoire of songs was absolutely huge and we had a fantastic mix of soul, disco and contemporary songs. Rhona's email admin leading up to the day was fantastic and made us feel like everything was being taken care of! The music was exceptional and we had the most incredible wedding disco. Thank you so very much.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We've got two power-house vocalists that front the band and we've been playing together for half a decade now, so there's a special energy, friendship, and chemistry on stage which is undeniable. All of that checmistry bundled up with us smashing the soul, motown, hiphop and rnb classics just gets everyone (including us) going.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed at over 300 venues over the years. Multiple times in many of those venues. Far too many to list here, but some of them include The Sheraton Grand, The Natural History Museum, The Berkley, Le Meridien, The Savoy, The Dorchester, The Ritz, The Waldorf, Home House, Eight Moorgate, Chelsea Physic Garden, 170 Queens Gate & Blenheim Palace

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

James Brown, The Supremes, Lauryn Hill, The Contours, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Destiny's Child, Stevie Wonder, Chic, Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, Sister Sledge, Cece Peniston, Whitney Houston, Daft Punk, Daniel Beddingfield, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Collectively we've played with Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, and Mollie King (of The Saturdays); have supported Robbie Williams, Rudimental, and Ronan Keating; have performed at Isle of White Festival, Newquay Beach Break Festival, The Full Ponty, GuilFest, Evolution Festival, SXSW Festival, and Notting Hill Carnival!

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-auditioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard 6-piece line-up is as follows: 2 x Lead Female Vocalists, Guitar, Keys, Bass, Drums. We can downsize to a 5-piece (without keys or guitar), or we can downsize even further to a 4-piece with just one vocalist. Some clients have requested horns, and that's more than do-able, we've got saxophone, trumpet and trombone on speed dial.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a Pro DJ service via our PA before, between and after live sets, we provide this for an additional £286.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually take 1.5 hours to set up. We can arrive from 5pm to do this if the finish time is midnight. We can also arrive earlier for an additional fee if that fits with your schedule better. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We welcome song requests from our repertoire with open arms. :) Alternatively, we have pre-crafted setlists from countless of performances where we've tried and tested songs and know what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 4m by 3m space for the band to perform. But saying that, they have squeezed into much smaller spaces, so drop us a line to see what's possible!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. Every booking gets one off the menu song for free. After that, it's £72 per song to take into account rehearsal times etc.
