Sophie completed both her postgraduate and undergraduate degrees at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama where she studied with distinguished chamber musician, Andrew Watkinson and Mark Knight. As an orchestral musician, Sophie has experience working with world-renowned conductors; including Sir Colin Davis, Sir Simon Rattle and Giandrea Noseda. While studying at the Guildhall School she has also benefited from receiving chamber music coaching from the Endellion and Heath quartets. Sophie is also the founder of City String Ensemble, a versatile string group which performs across London for special events and private functions.

Pacifico Strings were an absolute highlight for our wedding, playing during the ceremony and reception drinks. They really gave something unique to the day with their ability to play classical pieces and modern music, as well as incorporating some requests we had. They were easy to communicate with during the planning and lead up, we could not recommend them more highly, thank you!

City String Ensemble played at our Wedding on 1st June 2019. The service provided by Sophie is exceptional. Emails were promptly replied to and Sophie was very accommodating to our requests. On the day of the Wedding the performance from the string quartet gave our guests goose bumps. I know this because the guests are still raving 4 weeks after the event! I highly recommend City String Ensemble if you want a first class service and high quality performance at your event.
