Sophie was a concerto finalist of BBC Young Musician 2014 and since has performed music from the 14th C to the modern day across the UK.
Sophie began recorder lessons aged 6 and within three years had passed her grade 8 exam. She began learning with Barbara Law at the Junior Royal Academy of Music at age 9 alongside her studies in violin and composition, which she continues today. In 2014 Sophie became the second recorder player to reach the Concerto Finals of BBC Young Musician and since then has performed an enormously wide variety of repertoire across the UK and abroad, from 14th century manuscripts to her own compositions. She enjoys improvising on all varieties of music and working with different ensembles to create unique and diverse concerts.
