Mezzo-soprano Sophie Timms is a versatile performer whose repertoire ranges from Baroque sacred oratorio and German Lieder to musical theatre and contemporary vocal compositions. A Bachelor of Music graduate of King's College, University of London, Sophie currently studies with mezzo-soprano Louise Winter. Recent engagements have included mezzo-soprano for Handel Messiah, mezzo-soprano for Mozart Requiem, second soprano soloist for Monteverdi Vespers and a number of lunchtime recitals in venues across London including St Botolph-without-Aldgate and St Bride's Church.
Sophie is currently in receipt of choral scholarships with St Mark's Hamilton Terrace and The Esterhazy Singers, and has recently completed the prestigious Genesis Sixteen choral training scheme led by The Sixteen, which culminated in performances at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace and a BBC Radio 3 evensong broadcast at St Clement Danes.
