Sophie O' Carroll is a classically trained soprano specialising in music for wedding ceremonies and receptions, funerals and events.
She graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelor of Music Education Honours Degree in 2016.
Sophie began studying music at an early age and attended the Pamela Keeley Stage School in Newbridge, Co. Kildare for 11 years, studying dancing, singing, acting and stage craft.
Sophie began formal singing lessons aged 15 under soprano Regina Nathan in Herbert Lodge Music School in the Curragh. She now studies under Owen Lynch.
Sophie was awarded 1st place and overall perpetual cup at the Kilcoole Music Festival Adult Vocal Solo in 2015.
Credits include soloist on RTE's Service on Sunday broadcast in January 2016, soprano in Road to Rebellion 1916 Commemoration concert tour of Kildare, the role of Dolores in "Sister Act" and the role of the "Mother" in the opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors." In 2014 Sophie was a soloist with the Glasnevin Musical Society playing Cosette in the Les Miserables section of their show "What a Wonderful Musical Life" in the National Concert Hall.
Sophie has completed her Grade 6 ballet exam with the Anne Maher School of Ballet in Naas. She has also completed her Grade 8 drama exam with the Leinster School of Music and Drama.
Sophie has performed as a soloist in recitals in the National Concert Hall, Royal Irish Academy of Music, Castletown House, Carton House, Glenstall Abbey, Moore Abbey Monsterevin, Moat Theatre Naas, Riverbank Theatre Newbridge, Stradbally Hall, Samuel Beckett Theatre TCD , among others.
Sophie's repertoire includes musical theatre, classical and opera, church music, songs from the Great American Song Book and pop songs.
Sophie regularly performs at weddings, funerals, church events and concerts.
Sophie is also an accomplished dancer who is trained in jazz, musical theatre, hip-hop and ballet. She has a keen interest in choreography.
