Sophie Belinfante is a masters student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she also completed her undergraduate, studying with Krzysztof Smietana and currently Levon Chilingirian. A keen orchestral player, she has benefited from workshops with both the London Symphony Orchestra and The Academy of St Martin in the Fields, as well as side by side projects with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. As a member of the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra, she has performed regularly on the stage of the Barbican, under the direction of world-renowned conductors such as Gianandrea Noseda, Sir Colin Davis, Sir Simon Rattle and Yan Pascal Tortelier. Sophie has performed both in symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles in many of the major concert halls across the UK, also touring Europe and South-East Asia. As a soloist, she was selected for participation in master classes with Sergei Fatkoulin and Wei Dong Tong, and in chamber music has been fortunate to have been coached by the Endellion, Belcea and Heath quartets. Sophie's studies are generously supported by the Guildhall School Trust.
I cast Sophie in a quartet for the Encore video. She's a talented violinist that ensured our shoot went smoothly and that the music was pitch perfect. She was also a great sport when we had to make her 'implode' on set for the video ;) (watch the video you'll see what I mean)
Pacifico Strings were an absolute highlight for our wedding, playing during the ceremony and reception drinks. They really gave something unique to the day with their ability to play classical pieces and modern music, as well as incorporating some requests we had. City String Ensemble played at our Wedding on 1st June 2019. The service provided by Sophie is exceptional. Emails were promptly replied to and Sophie was very accommodating to our requests. On the day of the Wedding the performance from the string quartet gave our guests goose bumps. I know this because the guests are still raving 4 weeks after the event!
