Soho Saints Brass Band

Founded in the heart of London’s West End, the Soho Saints Brass Band brings the vibrant culture and unmistakable sound of New Orleans to the UK. The eight-piece ensemble, led by trombonist Connor ‘Conbone’ Martin, has been described as “one of London’s most exciting live acts” (Green Pages) and has been bringing the streets of Soho to life since 2025. A passionate ambassador for New Orleans brass band culture, Conbone has performed with the Hot 8 Brass Band on multiple occasions, as well as joining New Orleans trumpet legend Kermit Ruffins and Dirty Dozen Brass Band trombonist Stephen Walker on stage at their respective shows. Alongside his experience with ensembles including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the New York Brass Band, these experiences have helped shape his musical identity and inspire the Soho Saints’ commitment to the traditions, energy and communal spirit of New Orleans music. Drawing inspiration from artists and ensembles including Trombone Shorty, Hot 8 Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Soho Saints combine classic New Orleans repertoire with original material. Their sound brings the raw energy of street-level brass music together with a contemporary edge, celebrating the tradition while developing an identity of their own. With original music already released and further recordings in the pipeline, the band is continuing to build its catalogue of music beyond the live stage. The Soho Saints have performed at events including Notting Hill Carnival, Soho Jazz Festival and Ziggy Fest, bringing their sound to iconic London locations such as Piccadilly Circus, Soho Square and Carnaby Street. Their mobile setup allows them to roam freely, turning streets and public spaces into celebrations of New Orleans culture. A residency at Ziggy Green has further established the band’s presence on Regent Street, introducing hundreds of passers-by to the infectious rhythms and vibrant spirit of live brass music.
