My name is Sofia, I was born in the Caribbean ,i have been playing steel drums for over 20 years ,I started playing the steel drum at a tendered age. with no musical knowledge and no common sense about the Steel drum I fell in love with the instrument and learn to love and appreciate the instrument. I am a university graduate with a BA (Hons) in music My continually expanding repertoire of music is very diverse, covering genres such as Jazz, Pop, Reggae, Calypso, gospel and many other genres. My commitment and ability to demonstrate the great musical passionate of the pan have take me places such as Trinidad &Tobago, Panama, Turks and Cacaos, Etc. One of my greatest achievements to date was getting the chance to represent my country at the ‘World steel pan festival’, held in Trinidad & Tobago. I also had the opportunity to play with some of the world top Steel Orchestras in Trinidad & Tobago. a steel drum soloist are suitable for all occasion and events.

We were so lucky to have Sofia and her son. The atmosphere they created with their beautiful playing was electric and all of our guests said how brilliant they thought the band were. I would 100% recommend and use Sofia again in future. Thank you for bringing a bit of the Caribbean to our event.

We were looking for a steel band to complete our ‘Caribbean’ themed wedding day, so we were delighted to find Steel Drum Entertainment via a third party source. So highly reviewed by previous clients, we do hope that this review further embellishes how talented this band really are, they truly are first rate. There was some scepticism about the choice of a steel band, but I can honestly say with the amount of people up and dancing, Steel Drum Entertainment made our evening reception truly magical. Hi We have used Sofia and the Steel Drum Entertainment team for about 4 years now here at University of Nottingham, School of Health Sciences. They are very professional and the sound is amazing! They are here every year for Black History month and they play in the café, which is mainly for students. The students love it! We had queues going out the door this year of people coming in to see them. Staff from across the University come over to see them play. It’s like summer again in October when the Steel Drum Entertainment come to see us. Thanks Linda

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument to play.

“If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc. ”
