Hello! My name is Alison and I am a freelance musician based in Cumbria, UK. I studied Music at Cambridge University, and gained a Postgraduate Diploma at Trinity College of Music. Classically trained, I led the Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra and was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. I have now branched out into a variety of genres and play a Bridge Electric Violin. I regularly busk in local towns, aiming to bring moments of joy to people in their everyday lives. I also offer Concerts in Care Homes, with a particular focus on the positive impact of music on those suffering with dementia. I am available to play for weddings, receptions and other functions and can perform either with or without backing tracks. Inspired by hiking and camping in the English Lake District and the Scottish Highlands, I write and record my own music. These compositions aim to communicate powerful and often overwhelming emotions experienced in the midst of wild and remote mountain landscapes.
