Customer questions
Do you have different line-up options?
Most families choose to have one funeral singer, which works well both for solos and leading hymns. Our lady soloists sing clearly and can be heard in even the largest of churches and outside without a microphone. If you would like us to come as a duo (two ladies), for a bigger sound or because you’d like a duet sung, just ask.
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
Please call us as soon as possible, as we may have another funeral booked for that day. Availability allowing, we are flexible as to start times, finish times, service duration and even changes of dates.
How much time do you need to set up?
We arrive 30 minutes before the start of your funeral service. We’ll check last-minute details with your clergy / celebrant, organist funeral director. We’ll set ourselves up and do a quick sound text if possible. Please note that some crematoriums may not allow us into the chapel before the mourners – this is not a problem for us.
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
Absolutely! Contact us and we’ll talk through what you’d like and what we might sing. For church funeral services, especially Catholic Masses, your presiding priest/clergy will need to approve your choice of music. Please confirm your music choices with us at least one week in advance, and with your funeral directors for your Order of Service.
Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?
Yes. We bring our discreet Bose wireless speaker for our backing tracks. We also liaise with any church organists and bring sheet music if required. We don’t need microphones, lighting, staging, or access to the church / crematorium sound system. Occasionally we might need access to a 13amp plug. For burials/graveside, we bring a large umbrella!
Can you learn song requests before the event?
Yes – just contact us to discuss, as not all songs are suitable for a solo female singer. Having said that, we have sung songs made famous by artists as diverse as Pavarotti, Eva Cassidy, and Rod Stewart! We may need to source the sheet music and create a backing track. We charge a nominal £20 extra for our time to do this.
