Simon Bennison is a contemporary composer based in the UK using conventional techniques, graphic scores, soundscapes and electronics. He has a MMus from the University of Surrey studying with Tom Armstrong, Milton Mermikides and Stephen Goss, as well as further study with Michael Finnissy and Tansy Davies. He also studied music & production at Salford University mentored by Bill Leader (Transatlantic/Topic Records). As a classical guitarist he studied with Gerard Cousins in London, and Maximo Diego Pujol at West Dean College. His pieces have been performed by Lola de la Mata, Anna D'Errico, Juanjo Llopico, Matthew Lee Knowles, Aisha Orazbayeva, Rebecca Lenton, Sophie Harris, Ben Copeman and Peter Gregson. He has founded the multi-discipline new writing collective UNFIXED and is interested in works for solo, chamber, dance, installation, film and all cross-media collaborations.
